Though the sound was faint, muffled by the roar of the waterfall, to Xiao Junyan—who had released his senses beneath the cascade—a distinct aura was perceptible.
In that instant, his piercing eyes snapped open. Turning, he lunged towards the source of the aura.
The cold was unbearable. Yue’er was just about to slip quietly out of the water when, the mont her upper body erged and she prepared to hide behind a rock, a fierce aura swept towards her. The speed was so swift she had no chance to react.

Xiao Junyan’s expressionless, handso face studied the creature he’d pulled from the water. A barely perceptible twitch flickered at the corner of his mouth.

Yue’er froze, genuinely stunned. Hanging upside down by one foot, her entire body dripping wet, she stared wide-eyed at the youth gripping her ankle, who was now frowning as he appraised her naked form.
“Ahhhhh!”

Xiao Junyan hadn’t anticipated this little girl suddenly shrieking and aiming a kick at his face. Caught completely off guard, his face—a beauty that provoked both divine and mortal resentnt—took Yue’er’s kick squarely. He felt the slippery little foot he was holding twist, and the girl he’d been dangling upside down spun around and landed several tres away. Imdiately afterwards, she hastily pulled a garnt over herself.
Yue’er’s beautiful eyes brimd with grievance. After pulling the clothes on, she plopped down onto the ground, tears welling in her eyes as she glared at the youth with a pitiful yet furious expression.

He frowned as he looked at the little girl sitting on the ground, glaring at him angrily. Stepping forward, he asked, ‘Which branch of the family are you from? How did you end up here?’
In his view, their place was protected by barriers and formations; outsiders couldn’t enter their immortal isle. Any child appearing here must naturally be from the Xiao family.
However, he had never interacted with the children from the various branches of the Xiao family, so naturally, he had no idea which branch this little girl belonged to.
Therefore, recalling the training exercises arranged by the family for its young mbers, he assud this little girl had probably snuck out to play. Still, she was awfully bold—a five or six-year-old girl daring to follow into a place like this.
Yue’er offered no reply, rely glaring at him with a mixture of anger and hurt. She was thinking: how furious would Father, Mother, and her masters be if they knew she’d been seen so completely by this youth?
Xiao Junyan, however, thought she was frightened.
“I am Xiao Junyan,” he said promptly.
