Chapter 4888: Take Her Away
Hearing his words, Yue’er’s gaze shifted, a hint of cunning flickering in her eyes. Did this man think she was part of the Xiao family?
The thought crossed her mind, and she blinked. Recalling how he’d introduced himself as Xiao Junyan, the young master of the Xiao family, a decision ford swiftly in her heart.
“Aren’t you leaving? Waiting to be fed to the beasts?” Xiao Junyan walked ahead, noticing her still standing there, and called out.
Yue’er imdiately began walking at his pace, keeping up beside him without haste. However, her small fra ant her steps were tiny, and she gradually fell behind, creating a distance between them. The weeds in the forest stood waist-high, easily concealing her diminutive form.
As Xiao Junyan walked on, he noticed the little thing had gone quiet. Turning back, he saw the tiny figure struggling to push through the weeds toward him. Seeing this, he stood still. After a mont, when she reached his side, he reached out and scooped her up in one arm, striding forward again.
“I can run by myself! I don’t need you to carry !” Yue’er protested, not wanting this man holding her at all!
“Your legs are too short.”
Xiao Junyan replied coldly. His stride lengthened as he darted through the forest. When encountering dangerous beasts, he simply leapt high into the air to avoid them.
After carrying the little one for a while, he realized she had so weight to her. After traversing a distance, the arm holding her began to feel slightly sore.
He had to admit, this little girl was a chubby child. Even though her fra was small, her entire body was soft and plump.
With soone carrying her, Yue’er didn’t demand to be put down. Instead, she settled comfortably in his arms. Her eyes twinkled as she announced, “I’m hungry.”
Hearing this, Xiao Junyan paused. He found a spot to stop, set the child down beside him, and retrieved a Fasting Pill from his spatial storage.
“Here, eat this!” he offered, holding it out.
Yue’er looked at it, her eyes widening. “This? I won’t eat this. It doesn’t taste good. I want at.” She absolutely refused to take the fasting pills, especially since they weren’t even as good as the ones her mother made! No way was she eating them.
“Eat!” he pushed forward, making a move to stuff it into her mouth.
“No, no! I won’t eat this dicine!” she protested, backing away.
Xiao Junyan, who had never cared for a child before, watched the little thing stare at him warily, her eyes wide with suspicion, as if terrified he would force the Fasting Pill into her mouth. He couldn’t help but frown, his gaze darkening slightly.
After a mont’s pause, he tucked the pill away. “Wait for up in the tree. I’ll go get you so at.” Kids really were such a hassle.
Hearing this, Yue’er finally stopped resisting. She stepped forward, letting him lift her up and place her securely in a spot high in the tree.
“Sit tight. Hold onto this branch. Don’t fall. I’ll be back soon,” he instructed in a cold tone.
“Got it,” Yue’er replied. Watching him fly away, she pulled a spirit fruit from her spatial pouch and began eating it, her eyes darting around as if scheming sothing.
anwhile, Xiao Junyan, worried about the little one left behind in the tree, caught a gray-feathered spirit chicken and returned. Seeing her sitting obediently in the branches, he approached to bring her down. Gathering so twigs nearby, he proceeded to roast the spirit chicken.
“I’ve already sent word back to the clan. Soone will co to take you ho,” Xiao Junyan said, tearing off a chicken leg for her.
