Capítulo 4946: Worry
Before long, a shadow figure drifted out again. This ti, however, its ethereal hand cradled an object glowing with a ghostly light.
The thing was about the size of a bracelet, with two tiny bells attached to its edges. It floated in the soul-like figure’s palm, as if it couldn’t grasp the physical object. Approaching one of the n, it said, “Take it.”
“Yes, Master!” The middle-aged man responded respectfully, quickly taking the object and stowing it away.
The spirit form glanced at the two elders, too lazy to intervene. Just as it prepared to enter the middle-aged man’s body to rest, it sensed an exceptionally pure aura.
“Hmm? An innate spirit-gathering body?” His eyes narrowed, a gleam flashing within them as he shot toward the source of the aura.
anwhile, at the inn, Feng Jiu waited for Song Mi’er and Yue’er to return. Yet, the longer she waited, the more uneasy she felt. From Yue’er, she’d learned that the Yu Manor wasn’t far from either West Street or this inn. Logically, they should only have been gone briefly to say their goodbyes. Why hadn’t they returned yet?
Though Mi’er was with them, she couldn’t help feeling uneasy. After a mont’s thought, she turned to her two sons in the room and said, “You two wait here for . I’ll go see why they haven’t co back yet.”
“Mm hmm, we’ll wait here for you, Mother,” they replied in unison.
Feng Jiu smiled, ruffling their hair. “It’s getting late. Stay put and don’t wander off. Mother will be back soon.”
After giving her instructions, she leapt directly out the window. A flash of movent, and she vanished into the night.
At the Yu Manor’s main gate, a middle-aged man stood, blood trickling down his face. It added a bloodthirsty edge to his already savage features.
Panting heavily, he glared viciously at the girl wielding a frying pan and a cleaver. The pan was larger than ordinary, now radiating a powerful aura—clearly a treasure.
Yet he’d never imagined anyone’s treasure could be a frying pan! When that pan’s base smashed into his skull, even his formidable cultivation couldn’t prevent blood from gushing from his forehead.
Then there was that cleaver—though calling it a kitchen knife was a stretch, as it resembled a bone-splitting blade. Its edge glinted coldly, razor-sharp. Ard with these two weapons, he had fought her for so long yet still failed to kill her!
Mind you, this girl looked no older than fifteen or sixteen, especially while shielding the little girl behind her. Such a pair of seemingly helpless figures would normally be dispatched with a single strike.
Yet now, though the young woman bore significant wounds, she stubbornly guarded the little girl without retreating an inch. This couldn’t go on.
“Roar!”
Just as he prepared to strike again, a thunderous lion’s roar erupted. A massive lion lunged at him from the side. Startled, he counterattacked imdiately!
“Sister Mi’er, how are you? Are you hurt?” Yue’er looked at her with concern. Her body was covered in wounds, large and small. Yet, thanks to her protection, she hadn’t been hard by that man.
“You must leave imdiately! Go find the Master at the inn. This place is too dangerous. Go!” Taking advantage of the lion distracting the middle-aged man, Song Mi’er shielded her and rushed toward the gate, determined to get her out of this perilous place as quickly as possible.
“Indeed, the scent of an innate spirit-gathering body.” A voice carried a hint of excitent.
