He scread in terror, his voice shrill and filled with dread. Flas raged across his body, refusing to be extinguished no matter how fiercely he beat at them. “What good would it do a dying man to know?” Feng Jiu remarked indifferently, watching the black-robed man writhing and screaming on the ground, reduced to a burning husk. Her hand moved, gripping the Blue Edge as a faint azure glow surged from its blade.
“No one I intend to kill has ever escaped!”
As her cold voice fell, her sword-wielding hand struck downward in an instant, carrying a fierce sword qi. The slash cut through the air like a mountain river, sharp and terrifying!
“Whoosh!”
“Arghhh!”
As the fierce sword qi erupted, a shrill, wretched scream filled with unwillingness pierced the air. Yet, the barrier surrounding the courtyard contained the sound, preventing it from escaping.
The only witnesses to this scene, their faces drained of color and hearts pounding in terror, were the figures piled up in the corner…
Blood spattered. The body split cleanly in two, the halves scattering across the ground. Flas consud it, burning until not even a speck of ash remained, all scattered into the night air by the wind.
The elderly man who had arrived with the cloaked figure was utterly petrified by the spectacle. He dared not even entertain thoughts of escape. The overwhelming pressure was too intimidating, the woman’s power too terrifying. His legs gave way beneath him, and he collapsed trembling against the wall.
Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, his face as pale as paper. Dazed by sheer terror, his eyes lost their usual sparkle, sitting there as if his soul had been stolen.
Feng Jiu shot him a glance. With a flick of her Blue Edge, a flash of cold steel whistled through the air, sealing his throat in an instant!
Even in death, the old man’s eyes remained wide open, his face frozen in terror as he stared straight ahead, unable to utter even a scream.
Those in the corner desperately tried to make themselves invisible. What kind of being was the Specter Lord of the Specter Palace? Not only were the people of Blazing Sun City aware of his na, but even nearby powerful figures had heard of his extraordinary strength. Now, they had witnessed him crushed and killed without any chance to fight back by this azure-robed woman. How could they not be terrified?
After disposing of those two, Feng Jiu felt sowhat satisfied. After all, eliminating the man who sought to turn her daughter into a dicinal pill had settled an unfinished matter.
At least, she no longer had to worry about her child being targeted again when she wasn’t there to protect her.
Her fingers lightly traced the blade of the Blue Edge Sword before she swiftly sheathed it. She turned to face the figures huddled in the corner. With a flick of her wrist, a surge of spirit energy rippled through the air. The next mont, muffled groans escaped their lips.
Feng Jiu stood in the courtyard, her clear gaze fixed on the corner. Her voice was unhurried, tinged with a hint of languid indifference: “You all saw that, didn’t you?”
