Chapter 4985: Go Together
“Father.”
The three Song brothers bowed to him upon his arrival, their eyes glancing toward their younger sister and Yun Qi standing beside him.
Song Lingbo entered with his hands clasped behind his back. “Co to think of it, I haven’t ventured outside in quite so ti. I’ll accompany you this ti—and bring them along too! It’ll broaden their horizons.”
Hearing this, the three brothers exchanged glances before replying, “Alright, we’ll go together. But won’t that leave only Mother behind at the estate?”
“Hmm. With your Mother overseeing the household, there’s no need to worry. Even if she encounters sothing she can’t resolve, she’ll consult with the elders.” Song Lingbo glanced at Hao’er and the others, smiling as he added, “You three should go back with Mi’er to pack. There’s no need to leave today—we’ll set out first thing tomorrow morning!”
“Yes, thank you, Uncle Song,” Hao’er and the others bowed in response.
“Co on, co on. I’ll take you back to pack and see what you need to bring,” Mi’er said cheerfully, beckoning Hao’er and Muchen. She led the three of them back to prepare.
In the courtyard, Song Lingbo instructed his three sons to prepare thoroughly and select a few servants from the estate to form an escort party.
anwhile, Mi’er, who had brought the three back to the courtyard, explained, “Since we’ll be traveling with my father and brother the entire journey, we won’t have to worry about food along the way. We don’t need to carry too many provisions; we can just gather whatever we need locally whenever we’re hungry.”
The three nodded in agreent without objection. Then Hao’er asked, “Sister Mi’er, how long will this trip take? I’m a bit worried that if we leave, Mother might co by just when we’re gone and not see us.”
Hearing this, Mi’er smiled brightly and said, “Don’t worry about that. I’ll go tell my mother right now. I’ll let her know a friend might be visiting. If she cos, I’ll ask her to stay at the mansion and be well taken care of until we return.”
“Can we leave a ssage for Mother too?” Hao’er asked.
“Of course you can. You can also leave her a letter. Go to your rooms to write whatever you wish. Once you’re done, I’ll gather them all together and give them to my Mother. When your Mother arrives, she can hand them to her. How does that sound?” Mi’er inquired.
“Mm, great!” The three children’s eyes lit up, and they imdiately agreed.
“Alright, then go write your letters first. I’ll go get so spirit rice. I’ll co back later to collect your letters before eting my Mother.” Song Mi’er said, waving to them before turning to leave.
The three had soone prepare ink and paper. After writing their letters in their room, they waited for Mi’er to return and handed her the finished letters.
Song Mi’er took the letters to her Mother’s courtyard. As soon as she entered, she saw her father there too. She trotted in, calling out cheerfully, “Father, Mother.”
“You’re a grown young lady now, yet you still skip about like this,” Lady Song shook her head, looking at her with a mix of indulgence and resignation.
“Mother, I’m leaving tomorrow with Father and my brothers. Don’t miss too much!” Song Mi’er giggled, wrapping her arm around her mother’s and nuzzling her shoulder.
“When you go out with your father, learn as much as you can,” Lady Song gently tapped her nose, her tone tinged with resignation. “Your brothers mostly stay ho, but you’re always running off sowhere. And when you do leave, you’re gone for so long. It keeps Mother constantly worried.”
