Chapter 5001: Stir Up Trouble
The lion crouched among the weeds, noticing the pack of fierce beasts staring intently at its position. It no longer concealed itself, rising to its feet and letting out a low growl as a warning.
The pack of fierce beasts, which had been following the scent of blood to hunt, swiftly retreated upon seeing the lion stand. They lowered their heads slightly, emitting low, subdued howls.
The lion watched them until they retreated completely, then turned and walked back to where it had co from, returning to its young master.
Over there, Song Lingbo instructed the guard to quickly tidy up the scene. After counting the spoils of war, he divided the items into two portions—one for the guard and one for the three children.
“We don’t need these. You keep them!” Hao’er shook his head, refusing to take any.
“Take them! You deserve them,” Song Lingbo said with a smile, placing the items into his hands.
Seeing this, Hao’er accepted them but imdiately handed them to the two guards behind him: “Here, you take these!”
“This…” The two guards looked at him in surprise, then glanced at their Master.
Song Mi’er smiled brightly. “Just take what he’s giving you. They don’t need these things anyway.”
“Since he’s giving it to you, you should take it!” Song Lingbo finally spoke up.
Hearing this, the two guards imdiately clasped their fists in salute. “Thank you, Young Master!”
“We should move to another location. This place reeks of blood; it’s not suitable to linger here any longer,” Song Lingbo said, signaling for them to pack up and relocate their resting spot.
“Understood.” Everyone responded, swiftly gathering their belongings and moving.
Compared to their forest ordeal, Feng Jiu’s days at the Song residence were far more leisurely.
When idle, she chatted with Lady Song, occasionally ventured out alone, or stayed in her courtyard reading. Sotis she entered her spatial realm to refine dicinal pills. While awaiting the children’s return, her days passed in peaceful ease.
One day, after finishing the preparation of dicinal pills in her spatial pocket, she erged with the lingering scent of herbs. She had the servants prepare a bath, intending to eat and rest afterward.
After bathing, she sat in the courtyard eating her al. Seeing the maidservants and guards outside rushing past, she turned to one of the maids waiting nearby and asked, “Where are they all going?” “Why do they all look so flustered?”
The maid curtsied and replied, “My lady, it seems that guests have arrived at the front gate. However, before the patriarch left, he instructed that no visitors be received during this period. The visitors attacked the gatekeeper, so the household staff have all gone to investigate.”
Upon hearing this, Feng Jiu said no more and continued eating her al. During her stay at the Song residence, no other guests had indeed visited besides her. After finishing her al, she set down her chopsticks, wiped her lips, and gestured. “Clear this table. Bring a cup of tea.”
“Yes, ma’am.” The maid responded respectfully, clearing the table before turning to leave. Soon after, she returned carrying a cup of tea.
