Capítulo 5014: Rush In
“Who dares to harm a mber of the Cheng family!”
The Cheng family mbers in the courtyard rushed over, led by three elders followed by guards. Their arrival swiftly encircled the entire main courtyard.
The three elders landed in the courtyard and swiftly approached the other elderly man beside Cheng Wanli. Upon seeing his state, they all gasped in unison.
“Whoa!”
“His cultivation… his cultivation has been crippled!”
Having one’s cultivation stripped away ant one’s entire being was rendered useless. Cheng Wanli was sowhat fortunate—his age was still relatively young, and though his cultivation was gone, his lifespan remained intact. But for the other elder? With his cultivation stripped, he likely had little ti left to live.
“Who? Who did this?!”
The three elders roared in fury, their rage boiling over. How could they possibly explain this to the Patriarch? Cheng Wanli was the Patriarch’s own flesh and blood. The Patriarch had always treated him with great favor, rarely reprimanding him even when he acted recklessly outside. Now, with his cultivation destroyed, they could only imagine the terrifying wrath they would face upon returning.
“What’s happened? What’s going on?”
The Song family elders, hearing the news, hurried over in their outer robes, so still tying their garnts as they walked. Seeing the furious expressions on the Cheng family mbers in the courtyard, they paused slightly, their gazes settling on the two individuals whose cultivation had been stripped.
After a mont’s scrutiny, they recognized them as Cheng Wanli and an elderly mber of the Cheng family. Yet at this mont, both lay on the ground, barely clinging to life.
The elders exchanged glances, their brows furrowing in concern. Instead of questioning the Cheng family mbers, they turned directly to Lady Song and demanded, “What is going on? Aren’t those two from the Cheng family? Why are they in the main courtyard?”
“Cheng Wanli infiltrated the main courtyard at night with ill intent toward ,” Lady Song stated simply. Her words alone were enough for everyone present to understand the situation.
A flicker of anger flashed across the faces of the clan elders upon hearing this. Yet, upon seeing the two n on the ground—their cultivation stripped and their bodies covered in wounds—they suppressed their fury.
They had believed the Cheng family, a noble house backed by nine formidable experts, would be beneficial allies for the Song clan. Little did they expect these n to harbor such ulterior motives!
“To think such shaless scoundrels exist within a family of mighty warriors!” declared the Grand Elder, his aged voice thick with anger and contempt.
“Hmph!”
An elder of the Cheng family let out a heavy snort, his imposing aura surging toward the Song family mbers. Narrowing his eyes with a grim expression, he barked, “To cripple the cultivation of two of my Cheng family mbers—you Song family have quite the skill!”
His gaze swept over the crowd in the courtyard, yet he could not discern anyone capable of crippling two mbers of the mighty Cheng clan.
“Who dared to strike? Co forward now! Or else, do not bla us for slaughtering your entire Song family tonight!” The elder’s grim eyes scanned the assembled crowd as his voice, thick with murderous intent, echoed through the courtyard.
Hearing this, several Song family elders exchanged bewildered glances. How could they possibly know who had crippled those two? Yet, since it happened on Song family grounds, they were undoubtedly implicated.
As they pondered, a voice erged, unhurried and deliberate. At the sa ti, a figure stepped forward at a asured pace.
