For a monarch-level powerhouse, this injury was severe but not fatal. Especially at this critical mont, he dared not even consider bandaging it or recuperating. He could only rush to complete his mission and find ti later to tend to the wound.
"Elder Liu, bring the island’s inventory report before sunset," Leng Hua instructed the monarch standing nearby.
"Yes, yes. I’ll check on them now and urge them to speed things up." The Monarch bowed and hurriedly withdrew.
At that mont, the two Monarchs who had just returned exchanged glances before stepping forward. They clasped their hands and said, "Young Master Leng, the matters you entrusted to us have been handled. There are also so other matters we wish to discuss with you in detail."
"Follow into the hall," Leng Hua said, turning to walk back.
Seeing this, the two followed him inside. In that mont, they couldn’t help but feel fortunate that they had obeyed his orders without question when he sent them on the mission. Had they caused any trouble, their fate might have been even more dire than Elder He’s.
Watching them enter the grand hall, several cultivators who had dispersed let out a quiet sigh of relief. One murmured, "Who would’ve guessed? Young Master Leng has been busy handling affairs these past few days, appearing so gentle and unassuming. Yet his strength is truly formidable! Even that Monarch fell to him. Didn’t they say his power hadn’t reached Monarch-level yet?"
"He hasn’t reached Monarch rank, but this Young Master Leng is said to be close to the Phoenix Empress? Still, where did he even co from? Why haven’t we heard of him before?"
"No matter where he ca from, he’s clearly not soone to ss with. We’d better stick to our tasks and follow orders!"
As the group walked away, the two Cloud Devouring Beasts exchanged glances at their forr position before dispersing to patrol the area.
Their master had ordered them to follow Leng Hua, partly to provide backup if trouble arose. Yet these past days, Leng Hua had kept them idle. Had they not erged today, their presence might have gone unnoticed.
Once back, they would definitely tell their master: Leng Hua had grown remarkably powerful these past years, and his thods bore a striking resemblance to the master’s own.
Here, Leng Hua gradually took charge of the affairs he had assud, steadily gaining control over all aspects. anwhile, Gray Wolf and Shadow One faced the sa issue elsewhere.
However, beyond just the two of them, Feng Jiu had assigned Fire Phoenix to accompany them. Coupled with Gray Wolf’s direct approach and temper—far less restrained than Leng Hua’s—it hadn’t taken long. Seeing the four individuals display such a lack of compliance, he imdiately resorted to threats.
In the grand hall, Gray Wolf slamd a thick stack of docunts onto the long table, glaring at the four seated within. "Is this how you conduct business? If you refuse to follow orders, then get the hell out! But mark my words! Once we’ve settled matters here, your four clans will face reckoning!"
Hearing this, the four n paused mid-sip of tea, their hands frozen in mid-air as they snapped their heads up to glare at Gray Wolf. "What do you an by that?"
"What do I an? Hmph!"
Gray Wolf sneered coldly, his gaze fixed on them. "You know exactly what I an! Summoning you here to receive orders is a sign of respect. But if you pay lip service while acting against my will, do you think you deserve to live? Think carefully about who you’re serving!"
