Listening to his words, the Azure Emperor pondered for a mont, glanced at the three of them, and said, "If you follow , you won’t be able to stay there for too long."
"Hehe, then Master could stay there as a guest for a while!" Yue’er said with a smile.
The Azure Emperor paused before replying, "Very well! I shall take you there when the ti cos. But first, inform your Mother that there’s no need for her to co and fetch you. I will personally escort you."
"Alright." The three exchanged smiles and responded in unison.
"One more thing."
The Azure Emperor turned to Yue’er and said, Soone nad Xiao Junyan ca looking for you. Since you were in seclusion, I sent him away. He didn’t co near the mountain but is waiting at its base. Do you wish to see him?"
"Xiao Junyan?" Yue’er paused, then pondered, "Is that Brother Junyan?"
"Brother Junyan?"
Before the Azure Emperor could speak, Hao’er and Muchen beside him echoed her words in unison, their voices rising slightly as their brows furrowed.
Clearly, they were neither accustod to nor pleased that their sister would address anyone besides them as "Brother"!
The Azure Emperor cast a faint glance at his two disciples, silently lifting his teacup for a sip without comnt.
Yue’er, perhaps not expecting such a strong reaction, saw their stern faces, furrowed brows, and the four eyes fixed intently on her. She gave an awkward smile and explained, "It’s just... that ti I snuck out back then, you know, when I went to that Great Emperor’s Immortal Island? That’s where I t him—Xiao Junyan, the young master of the Xiao family. He’s older than and has always been kind, so I started calling him... calling him Brother Junyan."
"What does this man want with you? You didn’t tell him who your father is, did you?" Muchen frowned, his expression tense as he stared at his younger sister, fearing soone might have designs on her.
"No, no, absolutely not! I only told them my na was Yun Qi and my master was the Azure Emperor. I stayed there for a few days before leaving. It’s been years now. If Master hadn’t ntioned him, I’d have almost forgotten about him. So, I really don’t know why he ca looking for . Honestly." Yue’er hurriedly explained, afraid they wouldn’t believe her.
The Azure Emperor sat there, gently blowing on his tea, stirring the leaves, sipping leisurely as if oblivious to their conversation.
"Father and Mother hold extraordinary prestige in this Immortal Realm now. If word gets out you’re their daughter, who knows what sches people might hatch? So you absolutely must keep your identity hidden. Also, don’t get too close to this Xiao Junyan fellow." Muchen adopted his brotherly air, his face stern as he lectured.
"I know, I know! I won’t let anyone find out that my Mother is Feng Jiu or that my Father is Hell’s Lord."
Yue’er hastily assured him, then added with a sweet smile, "But Brother, Junyan has always been kind to , truly. He looked after back then. I just left without saying goodbye later. Now that he’s co looking for , maybe he just wants to see once more. Should I go et him? After all, he traveled all this way."
"Master, what do you think?" Yue’er turned her head, tugging gently at her master’s sleeve as she asked hopefully.
