Feng Jiu glanced at him, her expression softening into a aningful smile. "Very well then."
Great Emperor Xiao Tian watched her, sensing an unspoken aning behind her words. He resolved that upon returning, he must imdiately sever the connection between Junyan and Yun Qi. He couldn’t risk them developing anything that might ruin this perfectly arranged marriage.
After exchanging a few more casual words and finalizing the arrangents, Xuanyuan Mo Ze and Feng Jiu personally saw him off. They set a date for Xiao Junyan to co stay on the Immortal Island for a while.
Watching him depart, Xuanyuan Mo Ze turned to Feng Jiu and asked, "What if Xiao Junyan refuses this match?"
Feng Jiu smiled. Instead of returning to the palace with him, they strolled along the Rainbow Bridge. Feng Jiu chuckled softly. "Marrying our daughter isn’t so simple. If he can’t pass the test, how could we entrust our precious daughter to him? Besides, if he can’t even pass this test, what if he faces similar dilemmas later? Wouldn’t he abandon our daughter anyti, using so so-called ’greater good’ as an excuse?"
"This Xiao Junyan may be outstanding," Xuanyuan Mo Ze said, "but I still feel he’s not worthy of our Yue’er." He believed his daughter deserved better.
