The few surviving mbers of the Shen family exchanged glances, then, led by Shen Shiqi, stepped forward to stand before the Azure Emperor and bowed respectfully to him.
"Thank you, Azure Emperor, for saving our lives."
The Azure Emperor cast a glance at them and said indifferently, "You’re overthinking it. I only killed those who sought to take my disciple’s life. " The implication was clear: saving them was never part of the plan; he had rely eliminated them all because they had sought to kill his disciple.
"What are you still standing there for?" The Azure Emperor turned and walked toward the city, but seeing Yun Qi still standing in place, he glanced back at her.
"Mm, I’m coming over!" Yun Qi called out, turning to Shen Shiqi. "Let’s go! My master and I are staying at an inn in town. Once we get there, I’ll help bandage your wounds."
"Thank you," Shen Shiqi replied with a smile. Leaving the two behind to clean up the area, the rest of the group followed Yue’er and the others into the city.
Watching them leave, so cultivators were still in a daze. It wasn’t until much later that they heard them murmuring among themselves: "Was that the Azure Emperor just now? And that’s his disciple, Yun Qi? The one wielding the Ancient Divine Whip? How could she be soone without any cultivation?"
"The Azure Emperor’s power is truly formidable. Those dozens of ’Heaven-Ranked’ assassins from the Rakshasa Hall were actually killed just like that."
"The Rakshasa Hall has really hit a brick wall this ti. I doubt the Rakshasa Hall will exist after today."
Recalling what the Azure Emperor had said earlier, the cultivators’ eyes flickered. When would they ever beco figures like the Azure Emperor?
At an inn in the city, after Yue’er had tended to Shen Shiqi’s wounds, she asked, "How did you end up here? I thought you’d already returned to your master’s estate." "
"I was delayed along the way. Plus, I don’t know who hired a ’Heaven’s Mark’ assassin from the Rakshasa Hall to kill . If I hadn’t run into you all this ti, I’m afraid I really would have t my end right here." Shen Shiqi sighed lightly.
"Are there a lot of people after your life?" Yue’er looked at him in surprise and asked curiously, "Do you have that many enemies?"
Shen Shiqi smiled wryly and said, "I have too many enemies to count, but there aren’t many who can actually hire the Rakshasa Hall." As he spoke, he smoothed out his robe and added, "You’re just a little girl; you wouldn’t understand these things."
Yue’er laughed and said smugly, "That’s true. Although there are quite a few people who want to kill , they only dare to think about it—they don’t dare to act."
Hearing this, Shen Shiqi smiled, looked at her, and asked, "Your injuries haven’t healed yet. Why aren’t you recuperating on Yunxiao Mountain? Why did you co here instead?"
"Hehe, I’ll let you in on a secret. My master was going to take to the Ghost Doctor Phoenix Empress for treatnt, but I’m a bit of a troublemaker. I figured if I went there, I’d have to stay for ages and wouldn’t be able to go out, so I begged my master to take a scenic route there instead." She said with a mischievous smile.
Shen Shiqi was slightly surprised, then laughed. "That one is indeed renowned for her dical skills. It’s fortunate that you’re the Azure Emperor’s disciple; otherwise, it would be difficult for an ordinary person to even get a glimpse of her."
After chatting for a while, Yue’er said, "Well then, you should get so rest! I’m going to check on my master. Let’s have dinner together tonight!"
"Alright," Shen Shiqi replied, rising to see her out.
After leaving Shen Shiqi’s room, Yue’er set off toward her master’s quarters. Suddenly, she paused in her tracks, furrowing her brow slightly. She felt a faint pang in her heart, as if a sense of unease had crept in.
