"Wh-what’s going on?" Shen Shiqi, standing beside him, was startled by the sight; his voice stuttered, and he grew tense.
The Azure Emperor supported Yun Qi as he gazed up at the sky, his expression grave as he muttered, "Why now of all tis? Damn it!" As soon as the words left his mouth, he turned to Shen Shiqi and said, "You must leave imdiately! Go!"
Before Shen Shiqi and the others could ask any questions, a powerful force hurled them a hundred ters away. Having traveled together all this way, they now witnessed this strange phenonon in the sky and had no idea what was about to happen. Naturally, they couldn’t leave at a ti like this, so they remained a hundred tres away, watching anxiously.
However, in the brief mont that followed, the cloud mass gathering above the Azure Emperor and Yun Qi swirled ever larger, and the rumbling grew louder. It seed as though a dark, vortex-like cloud had ford in the sky, with powerful air currents converging overhead, drawing cultivators from nearby towns to co and witness the spectacle.
Seeing the Celestial Tribulation take shape and begin to surge, the Azure Emperor realized he could no longer carry her away. He had no choice but to cast a barrier around them to try and hold it back, while simultaneously sending a telepathic ssage across a thousand miles to Feng Jiu, urging her to co quickly.
anwhile, Yun Qi was moaning in agony, cold sweat beading on her forehead, yet her body felt as scorching as flas.
"Ughhh! Master, I—I feel so terrible..." Yue’er cried out in pain, her hands clutching his arms tightly.
"I’m here, don’t be afraid. Everything will be fine." With one hand, he supported her, letting her lean against his chest; with the other, he channeled spirit energy to press against her brow, attempting to suppress the crimson lotus that threatened to break through its seal and burst forth.
The Primordial Red Lotus sealed within her had remained dormant all these years, causing no trouble. Even when her ridians were completely destroyed and her dantian cracked not long ago, it had only shown faint signs of loosening. Yet, unexpectedly, today it had triggered a heavenly tribulation here, threatening to break free from the seal.
Had her ridians remained intact, her cultivation intact, and her dantian uncracked, she could have withstood the lightning tribulation even if the lotus had broken free. But now, in her mortal form, she could not endure even the power of the Primordial Red Lotus, let alone the lightning tribulation—it would be enough to cause her body to explode!
For a mortal body to bear the Primordial Red Lotus, once activated, it would bring about a heavenly tribulation of utter destruction. And even for powerful beings of their caliber, facing the will of Heaven, they were still powerless to stop it.
As her body temperature soared, the Azure Emperor, who was supporting her, felt as though he were holding a ball of fire in his arms. Had his robes not been made of extraordinary materials, they would surely have been reduced to ashes by the intense heat.
With one hand, he channeled an unending stream of spirit energy into the space between her eyebrows, attempting to contain the fla that threatened to burst forth. Yet the Primordial Red Lotus was no ordinary entity; even the power of the Azure Emperor struggled to suppress it at this mont.
As he watched the spirit energy he channeled into her brow being consud until he could send no more, and as her true features gradually erged beneath the powerful crimson lotus fla raging within her, his heart grew heavier and heavier.
A crimson lotus, no larger than a fingernail, gradually erged from Yue’er’s brow. Her face seed to ripple with waves of fla as her previously delicate and charming features faded inch by inch, revealing the face of a breathtakingly beautiful young maiden.
Against that exquisite face, the tiny crimson lotus that was gradually erging added a touch of alluring, mysterious, and captivating beauty. Yet the Azure Emperor, the only one who could see her true form at that mont, had no heart to admire it; instead, his eyes were filled with nothing but concern...
