1455: Chapter 541 Abnormality_3 1455: Chapter 541 Abnormality_3 Even with such an opportunity arising during his long absence, the enemies did not seize it — what, then, were they waiting for?
And what sort of plot could compel them to forsake such a chance?
If the enemies’ sches proved successful, would his territory beco vulnerable to annexation by the opposing force at that ti?
A series of thoughts flashed continually through Zhou Tian’s mind, and the more he pondered, the more anxious he grew.
Although he was still unclear about what exactly his enemies had done, Zhou Tian knew that upon his return, he would likely face so difficulties imdiately.
Of course, trivial difficulties wouldn’t discourage Zhou Tian.
Even though he was aware that his return might bring trouble, he remained fearless.
After such thoughts arose in his mind, Zhou Tian’s actions remained unaffected.
As if he harbored no suspicions about changes within his territory, he went directly to his dwelling as soon as he returned.
On his way, Zhou Tian sensed sothing was amiss.
All the Beastn he encountered seed exceedingly fearful of him.
Lower Beastn fearing him was nothing surprising — given Zhou Tian’s status and strength, all Beastn were under his rule.
Coupled with the acts he had committed, it was natural for the common Beastn to fear him; Zhou Tian found nothing unexpected in this.
However, while it was normal for these Beastn to fear him, given Zhou Tian’s status, they also exhibited great reverence alongside their fear.
Rather than saying they feared him, Zhou Tian would prefer to describe their sentint as one of profound awe towards him.
Yet, having only been away for a short duration, upon his return, Zhou Tian noticed a decrease in reverence from those Beastn.
If such a change had occurred only in one or two Beastn, Zhou Tian would not have given it much thought — after all, according to the Monster hierarchy, as long as he remained the chieftain of the Beastman Tribe, he need not care about the opinions of other Beastn.
But, if this attitude was not isolated to a few but had spread throughout nearly the entire Beastman Tribe, then it was a matter demanding Zhou Tian’s attention.
Without a significant event, there could be no cause for the universal change in attitude amongst the Beastn.
Upon recognizing the situation, Zhou Tian grew increasingly wary of his subordinates even as he pondered what could have transpired.
In any case, erring on the side of caution was never wrong.
Even so, at the mont of exercising caution against his own Beastman subordinates, Zhou Tian indeed felt extrely uncomfortable.
Under the current World’s Monster Rules, as a BOSS, one should fear nothing, least of all insubordination from lower minions.
Given the authority over life and death a BOSS has over his minions, without a major incident, there would typically be no reason for a BOSS to fear treachery from those beneath him.
In fact, even after arriving in this world with high suspicions, Zhou Tian had never been overly wary of his lower minions.
Although he used the Monster Force like a tool, when he wasn’t exploiting them, he let them roam freely.
But now, discovering a change in his Beastman subordinates’ attitudes, Zhou Tian felt he had to consider whether his minions might take action against him.
If there was even the slightest possibility, Zhou Tian needed to prepare in advance.
While he retained so trust in his Beastman subordinates, skepticism without preparation could be costly if they indeed turned against him.
Theoretically, under the Monster Rules of this world, it should be impossible for Zhou Tian’s subordinates to act against him.
Firstly, they shouldn’t harbor the intent; secondly, as per the Rules of this Epoch, so long as Zhou Tian maintained his position, lower minions shouldn’t have the capability to rebel from below.
However, Zhou Tian’s current opponents were extraordinarily powerful.
Even in a world where, typically, lowly minions would not act against a BOSS, those Gods, due to their proximity to the World Rules and even their role in shaping them, could potentially circumvent the Monster Law’s effects on those Beastn.
Although difficult, it wasn’t entirely impossible they could succeed.
And if the Beastn really beca empowered to strike their BOSS, Zhou Tian couldn’t guarantee his subordinates wouldn’t rise in rebellion against him.
The human heart is challenging to control, and even if a superior treats a subordinate well, rebellion can still occur without courtesy when the ti cos.
Not to ntion, Zhou Tian had only been so good to his Beastman subordinates from the start due to Monster Rules.
He never worried that ill-treatnt might prompt a resistant action.
But now, seeing the possibility that the constraints of the Monster Rules might change due to the interference of the Gods, Zhou Tian could no longer afford to ignore his Beastman subordinates’ views of him.
