In fact, although the burrow spiders cannot be considered extrely powerful living beings, compared with the general living beings of advanced worlds, they are not far behind. Thus, for this world to have allowed the burrow spiders to develop to such an extent was already quite remarkable. In the current situation, it is unlikely that there exists another living being in this world that can compete or is even stronger than them.
However, while there may be no living beings comparable to the burrow spiders, in this world, there indeed exist living beings capable of fighting against them.
In fact, while the burrow spiders’ strength appears formidable, they have not unified this world because once they reached their current scale, their developnt inevitably faced collective resistance from other living beings in this world.
Given the nature of the burrow spiders, if they were to indeed continue developing, it is likely that all other living beings in this world would be wiped out.
Perhaps, for their own developnt, the high levels of the burrow spiders wouldn’t kill all living beings. But so things are beyond the decision of the burrow spiders’ high levels; you can’t expect them to starve when short on food instead of eating other living beings! Thus, from this perspective, it might be that the reason the burrow spiders haven’t unified this world has a lot to do with the attitude of their high levels. Zhou Tian thinks that if the deities of the burrow spiders and the queen and other powerful beings were to take action together, unifying this world at that ti was not impossible.
Yet, regardless of whether the burrow spiders were holding back, the fact that the combined forces of that world were able to hold back the expansion of the burrow spiders suggests that while the other living beings of that world weren’t incredibly strong, they were at least capable to so extent. Otherwise, even if the burrow spiders’ high levels were holding back, if those living beings didn’t have a bit of strength, even the burrow spiders’ unintended predation could have annihilated them.
Undoubtedly, for Zhou Tian, it would indeed be better to contact those living beings who were resisting the burrow spiders rather than utilizing the burrow spiders themselves.
First of all, those living beings that can resist the burrow spiders must possess so level of strength. Since those living beings had a certain amount of strength at that ti, it naturally represents their utility value. At least, if Zhou Tian were to use those beings to invade their world, it would inevitably cause their world, where they resided, to be invaded.
Secondly, precisely because they need to join forces against the burrow spiders, and may perhaps rely be hanging by a thread under the burrow spider’s assault, if Zhou Tian were to approach them then, as long as Zhou Tian possessed a certain strength, those beings would surely be easily convinced by him.
After all, not everyone cares about world-class affairs. From the perspective of the World Consciousness of that world, Zhou Tian is an external enemy, and even if it ans sacrificing part of the world’s living beings, he must be taken out. But to those living beings of that world at that ti, it was a completely different matter.
Whether a world will be annexed by another is too distant a concept for the living beings of that world. To them, the selfish ones would only care about their own benefits, and those with a longer view would at most be concerned about their race’s survival. It is believed that when compared to their racial benefit, nine out of ten kinds of living beings wouldn’t care about the safety of the world they inhabit.
So, not to ntion that the living beings at that ti probably weren’t even aware of what Zhou Tian was doing. Even if they did know what he was preparing to do, as long as Zhou Tian could bring them enough benefit, even realizing Zhou Tian’s situation eventually, even aiding Zhou Tian in annexing the world they lived in, wouldn’t be an impossible action from their perspective.
No doubt, once Zhou Tian thought of that situation, he could not possibly lose confidence in his operation this ti. Even if it’s a bit challenging, after contact with the living beings of this world, Zhou Tian is still confident he can ally with them, helping them secure more survival grounds while also creating conditions for himself to annex this world.
Of course, although Zhou Tian has the potential to ally with those living beings now, he wouldn’t rashly seek them directly. After all, at the ti, those living beings did not know much about Zhou Tian, so without gaining the other party’s trust, even with his strength, they might not be willing to cooperate.
Moreover, even if he were to form an alliance, Zhou Tian must also understand those living beings. If the beings he selected have various shortcomings, then partnering with them may not be beneficial to him.
Hence, after giving up on the burrow spiders, Zhou Tian seriously considered which living beings to ally with.
Like in most worlds, besides the distinctive burrow spiders of this world, the other living beings were basically the humans and the demi-human race that Zhou Tian was familiar with.
As for humans, there’s no need to elaborate; they just have so disparity in strength. The situation of humans at that ti didn’t differ greatly from the human societies depicted in most fantasy novels.
Aside from humans, the number of demi-humans in this world was also considerable. Beastn, elves—these races, often seen in Xuanji novels, existed in that world. However, in the expansion process of the burrow spiders, most living beings were exterminated by them. Currently, the only races still in the world, continuously resisting the burrow spiders, besides humans, were a branch of the Elf Clan— the Fallen Elves.
Fallen Elves are a variant of the Dark Elf, extrely extraordinary within the entire Elf Tribe. It’s believed that if it weren’t for their appearance being basically identical to elves, just based on the usual ways of the Fallen Elves, calling them elves would hardly be believed by nine out of ten listeners.
The nature of elves can be said to be very strict and arrogant. Besides having an unlovable personality, elves in existence are quite similar to the traditional human nobles. Or it could be directly said that at that ti, the reason why a large number of human nobles developed such deanors might greatly be due to emulating the elves.
Moreover, given elves’ mostly exceptional appearances, you can imagine that although the elves’ arrogance often received criticism from other races, the fact that no race truly severed ties over their deanor shows that while they might not entirely overlook the elves’ deanor, elves remain an admirable clan in the eyes of most living beings.
Yet within that supposedly strict elf clan erged the branch known as the Fallen Elves.
The Fallen Elves’ appearance is similar to regular elves, practically indistinguishable from Dark Elves, aside from their darker skin tone which is their only difference from traditional elves. But in terms of personality, Fallen Elves and traditional elves could be said to be on two entirely different extres.
In terms of strength, Fallen Elves are even weaker compared to ordinary elves. Often, a dozen Fallen Elves might not even defeat a single traditional elf. Most of the Elf Tribe doesn’t hold a good opinion of Fallen Elves, and if possible, they probably would have eliminated mbers of the Fallen Elves branch themselves long ago. (To be continued.
