Stepping inside the theater.
The wooden door behind him slamd shut with a bang, and Yang Tao almost felt the controller of Level 176 cheering with joy.
"Is it really that big of a deal…"
He shook his head slightly, surveying the opulent theater. The theater had only one floor, but there were several balconies and bay windows on the walls. From a distance, one could see red velvet seats on the balconies as well.
Yang Tao's position allowed him to easily see the stage and the side walls, but he couldn't see the back wall of the theater. Looking towards the back of the theater, there seed to be an endless array of seats.
However, this scene did not surprise Yang Tao in the least; if this were a normal theater, it would have surprised him instead.
There were no Entities in the entire theater, but there were so humans sitting in the chairs.
"Boss, the seats are interfering with my mind." Jerry's voice made Yang Tao retract his gaze and turn to look at Jerry, who was following him.
Jerry looked at the red seats beside him as if facing a great enemy and explained, "There's sothing wrong with these seats. Ever since we ca in, these seats have been sending suggestions, hinting for to sit down…"
"Although I don't know what would happen, I don't think it would be good."
Yang Tao nodded slightly. Not to ntion Jerry, even he felt that these velvet theater seats would be very comfortable to sit on. Of course, he didn't feel any ntal suggestions; he simply thought the seats would be very comfortable.
"How are you feeling? Can you hold on? If not, I'll send you back first…"
Just as he spoke halfway, Yang Tao quickly turned around, switching to a shotgun emitting purple light in his hand, pointing it at the figure that suddenly appeared behind him.
"Sir, can I help you?"
Appearing behind Yang Tao was a Caucasian man with a sowhat haggard face. He was wearing a double-breasted tailcoat, a top hat, and opaque glasses.
He looked like a gentleman who had stepped out of a play.
The other party paid no attention to the shotgun in Yang Tao's hand. He politely removed his top hat and bowed slightly to Yang Tao, saying, "Mr. Yang, welco to my opera house. You can call Lord Laubritte. I never thought we would et so soon."
Seeing the opponent's health bar of 250,000 and a white border above his head, Yang Tao put away the shotgun in his hand and said with a polite smile, "Lord Laubritte, it's a pleasure to et you."
"This opera house is your property?"
Lord Laubritte nodded slightly and explained, "I am the current owner of this opera house, but I am not its builder."
"Mr. Yang, I have heard a little about your deeds. That blue parrot ca to a few days ago, seeking help, but…"
As he spoke, Lord Laubritte's gaze turned to the stage and he continued, "I am not interested in violent matters."
"That parrot had no artistic talent, so I refused it."
Yang Tao nodded slightly. He hadn't expected that parrot to be so troubleso, even running to other levels to find helpers.
"Thank you for the information."
"But I would like to ask about the situation with those people?"
He was referring to the figures sitting in the theater chairs. Although he hadn't figured out what level he was on, based on Jerry's words, he understood that there must be sothing fishy about the seats on this level.
Lord Laubritte looked at the humans sitting in the chairs and chuckled, "They are people who ca to watch the opera."
"Although so of them have ulterior motives, it's harmless. I welco anyone who loves art here."
Then Lord Laubritte looked at Yang Tao and said with a smile, "You want to take them away?"
"Heh heh, many of them chose to stay here voluntarily."
Yang Tao didn't hesitate with Lord Laubritte and directly took out his exploration terminal from his backpack. Based on the characteristics of the theater, he quickly found information about this level.
Level 177 'Standing Ovation'
Survival Difficulty 2
Unsafe, Stable, Few Entities
Level 177 is primarily composed of an undetermined, possibly infinite, number of red velvet theater seats.
The true threat in Level 177 cos from the theater seats themselves. This threat is extrely subtle, easily victimizing those who are unaware, or even tired or distracted inford individuals.
Anyone who sits on any seat in Level 177 will be eternally fused with the seat and can never leave. The seats themselves have been proven to be completely indestructible.
Therefore, those sitting cannot save themselves, and those standing cannot help them.
Any chairs or stools brought into Level 177 will transform into theater seats the mont soone sits on them.
Groups:
The Ambrosia Pavilion
People who stay in Level 177 of their own volition, ranging in number from a few to several hundred.
So people, tired of the nomadic life in the Backrooms, deliberately trap themselves in Level 177. To avoid loneliness, they usually co in groups.
When they sit in the chairs, all their basic biological processes seem to be frozen, losing any need for food, water, sleep, excretion, or even hygiene, as if their lives were fixed at the mont they sat down.
'Escapism?'
Yang Tao had no judgnt for these people; after all, everyone has their own choices.
However, he was very interested in the information that stated 'the seats themselves cannot be destroyed by any ans.'
Putting away the terminal, he looked at Lord Laubritte and said with a smile, "Excuse , I was just checking so information."
"No problem…"
"I saw an interesting piece of information in the database. It said that the seats here cannot be destroyed. I wonder if that's true or false?"
Lord Laubritte felt a strange, uneasy feeling when he heard Yang Tao's words, but he still maintained his gentlemanly deanor and said, "Nothing is absolute. If humans can't destroy it, it only ans their strength is too weak."
"Mr. Yang, what are your intentions for coming here this ti?"
"I was sent here by Level 176."
Just then, the performance on stage ended, and Yang Tao felt a slight change around him, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
It was as if sothing had disappeared.
"Mr. Yang, please make yourself at ho. If you wish to leave, you can exit through the safety doors on the walls. I need to arrange the program, otherwise the audience will have to wait for a long ti. So, if you'll excuse …"
With that, Lord Laubritte turned and walked towards the stage. Although it looked like he was walking away step by step, his figure disappeared from Yang Tao's sight very quickly.
"Quite interesting…"
So powerful Entities in the Backrooms had their own personalities, which Yang Tao found novel.
"Jerry, let's go. Co with to Level 356…"
Lord Laubritte's polite attitude made him feel a bit embarrassed to lay hands on the theater chairs, even though they did look quite comfortable.
