"Alright, I'll tell you about the history of the gold civilization..." Zhang Bin began, recounting the information he had heard from the Dragon Vein and embellishing it as he went.
It was a spectacular story, a history both brilliant and sorrowful.
Everyone, including Ma Rufei and Chen Chaoyue, was utterly shocked, scarcely able to believe their ears.
The gold civilization's technology was that advanced? They frantically mined Earth for gold, turning it into a desert? And that led to a terrible disaster? A disaster that completely annihilated them? And only a few survivors escaped into the cosmos in their Cosmic Spaceships?
Yes, Zhang Bin had omitted the fact that the gold civilization had reached a planet a re 32 light-years from Earth. This was a great secret.
In the future, he was determined to pilot a Flying Saucer to that planet and explore it.
However, piloting a Flying Saucer there would take nearly a hundred years, and besides, the saucer didn't have enough energy.
Of course, he first needed to obtain a Star Map or acquire so technological instrunts from Xuanwu Star to detect that green planet before he could make the journey.
According to his plan, he had to beco much stronger within a hundred years. Then, he would seize the Cosmic Battleship from the Black Prison Star People and pilot it to that planet for his expedition.
After all, the Black Prison Star battleship could reach ten tis the speed of light. At that speed, the journey would only take a few months. His mind was whirring with these clever calculations, though it remained to be seen if he could actually pull it off.
"That's just a story. I suspect you made it all up, which makes it aningless," Phoenix said, finally coming to her senses and speaking with a pout.
"Whether it's made up or not is sothing you'll understand in the future," Zhang Bin said. "Besides, I possess Miraculous Abilities for exploring the City of Gold—abilities that you lack."
Miraculous Abilities to explore the City of Gold? Could it be that he has grasped the Gold Elent Techniques? Is that why he can use them to search for the City of Gold? No wonder he seed to be just enjoying the scenery and cultivating in the desert, moving so slowly. He was using the Gold Elent Techniques to scan the area all along! Phoenix's wariness of Zhang Bin grew. The Gold Elent Techniques were known to be terrifyingly powerful, but they were also the most difficult to master. He looked at the three Treasure Maps first. The first was a tattered piece of Beast Hide, upon which was a drawing of a gigantic city made of gold.
The city walls stood ten ters high, constructed entirely from huge Gold Bricks. The surfaces of the bricks were engraved with many talisman-like patterns. Atop the walls stood nurous guards clad in golden armor. They looked very different from modern humans; they were much taller, with most standing over two ters in height. They all had six fingers on each hand, making them appear exceptionally agile. All of their weapons were forged from gold: long sabers, spears, war-halberds, Giant Axes... Incredibly, the City of Gold was covered by a massive do, like a single, towering roof that enclosed everything.
Peeking through an uncovered section revealed a resplendent interior, densely packed with countless golden buildings that rose tier upon tier like fish scales. There were also green flowerbeds planted with strange flora. Zhang Bin even recognized a few of the plants as precious dicinal herbs, the kind used to refine Nirvana Pills.
From these plants alone, Zhang Bin could deduce that this drawing was no fanciful invention of later generations. It was a true depiction of a real place. The City of Gold definitely existed. The only thing that was hard to understand was how this Treasure Map could have survived for hundreds of millions of years.
"My god, can you imagine how much a massive City of Gold like that is worth?" Ma Rufei and Chen Chaoyue imdiately shouted in excitent. "Hahaha... we're going to be rich! Gold really does follow beauty!"
It really is those two clowns, and the youth before must be Zhang Bin. I never thought he'd beco so powerful so quickly. He's already at the Golden Core Mid-Stage! And he has the ability to fight above his cultivation level, wiping out the powerful Barry and nearly crippling the formidable Sky Axe Sect. A fervent light shot from Betty's beautiful eyes, fixing on Zhang Bin, unable to move away. She even felt her legs go weak as she yearned for his embrace.

And Zhang Bin was indeed overjoyed. This was the first ti he had ever seen a depiction of the City of Gold. How much gold would a city that enormous contain? It would be enough for countless trades with Gao Si. For the next ten years, he probably wouldn't have to worry about the energy needed for interstellar travel. A monuntal problem had just been solved.
After all, the gold civilization was so advanced it could migrate across the stars. They had likely mined all the gold on every planet in the Solar System. Otherwise, they wouldn't have so frantically mined their ho planet, Earth, to the point of turning it into a desert. For the gold civilization to have reached such a stage, it must have had a glorious history spanning at least a hundred thousand years, far beyond anything humanity could compare to. By contrast, humanity's own glorious history spanned only a few short centuries—not even a full millennium.
Phoenix coolly watched Zhang Bin and Peacock's passionate kiss as if she were watching a movie, not the least bit embarrassed. However, a closer look would have revealed the deep pain hidden in her eyes.
Finally, their lips parted.
Zhang Bin moved on to the second Treasure Map, which was carved onto a grayish-white stone stele. It was a long shot, depicting the City of Gold sitting majestically upon a green prairie. Bathed in the golden sunlight, it reflected ten thousand rays of shimring light. A Cosmic Spaceship was slowly descending from the sky as all the people in the city welcod it with excitent, their faces filled with joy and anticipation.
This remnant, only half a stele, also bore strange inscriptions. Unfortunately, no one today could read them. Zhang Bin's face, however, lit up with intense surprise!
