GSS—Global Security Service—a totally new rcenary group ford on a whim based on the information Ahmin had researched and gathered through her contacts, had set its sights on the Kurds, including her group.
It was a wonder that her militia had attracted its attention, but seeing that GSS operators were all won, she sowhat understood the basis for cooperation.
More likely, the higher leadership was also female—a feminist figure.
Ling Qingyu: You sure @V@
Although Commander Ahmin wasn't certain of the agenda behind the scenes, she had no fear in cooperating, much less when the sponsor wholeheartedly delivered everything into their hands.
In spite of the unknown future, she was confident in maneuvering things toward her group's interests while serving the sponsor's ambitions.
After all, they had been thrown under the bus several tis by their forr allies over the past century. Nothing now could be worse than that.
There was only a slight worry from receiving too many favors. This new ally was like a wealthy figure who didn't care about money, gifting them so much.
"Would you like so tea? I figure people from your country fancy it," Ahmin asked.
"I'd like to taste how our commander makes her tea," Tang Ziyi replied.
"I'm sure you won't be disappointed," Ahmin smiled and gestured. "Have a seat, please."
Tang Ziyi sat down and watched as Ahmin calmly made tea. Though their cultures shared similarities in tea-making, there were still differences.
Yes, the group could now indulge in their culture and traditions more freely, without having to worry about scarcity because of GSS's support.
For that, Ahmin was grateful and hoped the price she would have to pay wouldn't be too high—sothing proportional, so the cooperation could last.
"Here, enjoy."
"Thank you," Tang Ziyi nodded and took a sip. "Good tea."
"I'm happy you enjoy it." Ahmin also sat down opposite Tang Ziyi. "Now then, what has made our friend restless at night?"
"Speaking of that, haven't you been wondering what our real goal is?" Tang Ziyi responded.
Ahmin raised her brow. Just as expected. However, she was curious why Tang Ziyi couldn't wait for another day to discuss this. She remained silent and waited for her to continue.
"Tonight is going to be the answer. It's just that I didn't expect it either," Tang Ziyi chuckled.
"What do you an?"
"Soone who will make decisions on our further cooperation will arrive tonight."
"Tonight? How? Do we need to pick them up?" Ahmin didn't have ti to dwell on Tang Ziyi's aning of another person in charge.
"No need to trouble yourself, Commander Ahmin. They ca from the air. As a matter of fact, I just received confirmation—they've already touched down and are walking toward us."
"Woah…" Ahmin paused in alarm. GSS seed to have its own air capability to drop soldiers from above.
These days, she had been puzzled about how GSS managed its logistics. All those smuggled resources seed to appear out of nowhere in Ahmin's eyes. The mystery now seed to be solved—the air force.
It was definitely rare, even for the strongest rcenary groups, to own aircraft. Those at the top tier with armored vehicles were already outstanding.
Was it fortune or misfortune that her group would work with GSS?
"Wait, do they know how to navigate to us? I an, it's best for our locals to guide them through the dangerous terrain."
"Don't worry, Commander. You'll get the answer soon. And that's the reason I ca here."
"Alright," Ahmin cald down, seeing how relaxed Tang Ziyi was. She knew the latter wasn't the type to act without certainty.
…
anwhile, Xiao Yue and the girls encountered the most difficult route due to the presence of elevated sentries. Utilizing shadows, they infiltrated smoothly but were blocked by two ard guards in their path.
There was no option other than dealing with them. Xiao Yue signaled her teammates, and two operators peeled off to flank around.
Soon, the two guards felt a sudden force clamp over their mouths as they were dragged back. Monts later, total darkness consud their consciousness. They couldn't resist or even make a sound to alert their comrades.
The two operators gently lowered the guards against the wall as they released pressure from the carotid arteries. Any more force or ti would have killed them.
They had no desire to kill or harm these militia won. Tonight's operation was a show of force, not one ant to produce unnecessary casualties.
The group continued forward, staying close to the walls as the sentries above scanned the area nonchalantly.
Every movent above echoed faintly in Xiao Yue's ears. Silently, they succeeded in penetrating the final layer of tight defense within the town.
Ahead lay the final destination for the showdown Xiao Yue had envisioned. So far, they had knocked out five guards.
Quite far from their imagined seamless infiltration without harming anyone. Of course, this also proved that the militia's patrol and vigilance still held value.
In fact, Xiao Yue and her teammates could have bypassed these guards by moving through the houses, but that posed too much risk and went beyond acceptable bounds.
…
Tang Ziyi heard Athena's report about Xiao Yue's progress and smiled in relief. Her presence was an ergency asure in case the team failed and alerted everyone.
However, her smile didn't last long because of Ahmin's words.
"Has the ti co?" Ahmin sighed. "I knew a supervisor from your organization would arrive long ago. And now the day has co."
"Hey, what do you an?" Tang Ziyi glared at the implication. "Why do you believe I'm not a supervisor?"
Ahmin didn't answer and rely gave her a knowing look. Tang Ziyi was almost pissed.
"I'm not stupid, Commander Ahmin."
"I never said you were, my friend," Ahmin laughed, finding joy in teasing this valkyrie. In terms of tactical battlefield assessnt and planning, Ahmin admitted she lagged far behind.
Nevertheless, when it ca to political thinking and deeper considerations, this young friend clearly lacked foresight. Or perhaps she simply had no interest in it at all.
"Will there be any changes to our previous agreents?" Ahmin asked hesitantly.
"Not at all. The fundantals remain clear. It's just that she wants to speak with you directly," Tang Ziyi said. "But please don't overthink it. If I decide on sothing, she has no choice."
"I believe you," Ahmin replied. Inwardly, she didn't believe a single word. After so ti, her observations of Tang Ziyi had beco clear.
She was direct and efficient, never one to brag. But when she did, it was obviously false.
Likewise, the mont she claid she could influence the incoming supervisor, Ahmin understood.
The relationship between Tang Ziyi and this so-called supervisor was incredibly close—and the latter held far greater authority.
After a while, Tang Ziyi added, "Actually, I'm here as an ergency asure, just in case things go out of control."
"Why? What's the matter?" Ahmin's tone turned serious.
"To avoid friendly fire incidents," Tang Ziyi answered. "I'm not worried about mine, but yours."
"Isn't that an arrogant statent?" Ahmin raised her brow—she wasn't angry at the condescending tone, because she knew her forces still paled in comparison.
"You'll know very soon," Tang Ziyi said after a pause. "In fact, I suggest you order your guards outside to stand down and welco our sisters."
Ahmin stared at Tang Ziyi, then shouted orders to her bodyguards outside in her mother tongue.
She trusted Tang Ziyi and complied without much hesitation. From her words, she already had a guess—but she didn't dare believe it.
Unfortunately, within minutes, she heard frightened gasps from outside, followed by urgent confirmations asking whether the approaching group belonged to her.
She glanced at Tang Ziyi and received a nod, then instructed her subordinates to welco them.
A figure entered, fully equipped from head to toe—night vision goggles and a SCAR rifle. However, the figure remained at the entrance, gradually removing the equipnt.
No surprise—it was another woman, shorter than Tang Ziyi, who stepped forward, delivered a tight hug, and greeted her warmly.
"Hello, friend. Welco," Ahmin spoke, suppressing the swirling emotions inside.
"It's a pleasure to et you, Commander Ahmin. You can call Xiao Yue," the figure replied.
"If you had inford of your visit earlier, I would have prepared a grand welcoming ceremony." Although her words carried a hint of tit-for-tat, she ant them sincerely. In their tradition, warriors were treated with great honor.
Much less a foreigner willing to fight alongside them at great risk.
"Plans can't keep up with change," Xiao Yue said, while inwardly flipping a middle finger at a certain unscrupulous figure. "I hope our uninvited visit doesn't offend you."
"None taken." Ahmin shook her head. What more could she say? From her subordinates' reports, a dozen won had sohow breached their defenses without raising any alarms.
With her nonchalant expression, she had to comfort her close bodyguards from over-reacting when they reported. Still, she never blad them because she understood how terrified they were to suddenly witness multiple shadows turned alive and stood before them.
Not to ntion, she was personally shocked herself. Alas, GSS was truly formidable.
"Please don't bla my sister Tang. It was my genuine curiosity to test our ally's readiness with our own eyes."
Ahmin's eyelids twitched fiercely. She massaged the bridge of her nose helplessly. This was less a test and more a show of force—a deterrence to establish status.
"Does my makeshift militia satisfy your group?" Ahmin asked.
"Indeed, the security is formidable. We initially believed, rather arrogantly, that we could get here without laying a hand on our own friends," Xiao Yue paused. "But our team had to knock out five guards—teaching us what blind arrogance leads to."
What a double aning—and a subtle test, Ahmin mused. Then she rembered her subordinates had been knocked out cold and imdiately relayed instructions to check on them.
Afterward, she turned her attention back to Xiao Yue and sighed heavily. This new supervisor seed harder to deal with than Tang Ziyi. Hopefully, her requests wouldn't be too excessive.
In fact, Ahmin was worrying too much, not realizing that her group was gaining enormous benefits from this cooperation. It was her fortune to have drawn the attention of Ling Qingyu, who rely sought to forge an alliance for a grand future plan.
In any case, she remained calm and composed despite the miserable outco for her subordinates. Nor did she fear the ruthlessness implied by Xiao Yue's infiltration and potential decapitation strike. She had already acknowledged the disparity.
