For his sudden disappearance, Loren figured the Wind ssengers would probably co up with a reasonable explanation themselves, like to prevent the impact of his departure from being too great and disrupting the normal lives of people in the coastal cities.
"Alright, we've left the territory of the Kingdom of Anselm. We can speak freely here without fear of being overheard."
Loren looked at the endless sea and spoke.
There were too many uncertainties at sea. Perhaps right beneath them now was a deep-sea leviathan, and they were completely unaware.
"Are you sure the treasure is right here?"
Mara took out the map and glanced at it. There were two connected points on it, and Loren had drawn a circle on the line between them.
"Sure. Roughly how long until we get there?"
Having been at sea for so long, Mara's sailing experience was quite extensive. She quickly estimated the ti:
"We're about two thousand kiloters from here. We can get there in two days."
"Good."
The ghost ship was the fastest mode of transportation on the sea in this world, much faster than ordinary sailing ships, and with far fewer limitations.
"We're going down to rest first. Keep up the good work."
Loren yawned and walked into the cabin.
Mara's ghost ship was quite clean. Although it couldn't compare to the Kingdom of Anselm, it was clean enough.
In the future, Mara would find a bunch of strangely-shaped sea monsters to serve as her subordinates, but for now, Mara was still alone.
When traveling away from ho, for safety's sake, everyone squeezed into one room.
Scarlett had packed a lot of things, and in a short ti, everyone had decorated the cabin to feel like ho.
The cabin had dormitory-style beds. Even in this situation, Anna still forcibly word her way into Loren's blanket.
It was quite cold at sea, so having a loli to warm the bed wasn't bad.
Anna was still wearing white velvet tights, and it felt quite comfortable pressed against Loren.
"Goodnight, Master ntor..."
"Goodnight..."
After exchanging goodnights, everyone fell asleep. Even Loren slept exceptionally soundly;
this was the first ti he had fallen asleep so easily.
...
"The patient is finally awake!"
When Loren opened his eyes, he saw a group of people in white coats.
"Do you rember your na?"
A doctor pushed aside a nurse and anxiously asked Loren.
Just moving slightly, Loren felt pain all over his body. He was hooked up to various instrunts.
Loren suddenly smiled. He guessed what kind of situation this was.
This was his previous life, another tiline where he had been rescued after falling from a building.
But according to the technological level of that world, if they were willing, they really could save Loren.
"Is this fun? You don't really think I'd believe it, do you?"
Hearing Loren's words, the doctor beca troubled:
"The patient's mind has problems... What should we do? The whole world is waiting for him to be judged. If he really has ntal problems, that's bad..."
This made Loren laugh. He followed the doctor's lead and asked a question:
"What happened to the animals in the mountains in the end?"
"Ravens, carrion crows, magpies, azure-winged magpies, black-crowned night herons, spotted doves, owlets, eagle-owls, shrikes... have all gone extinct. Yours were the last few."
The technology in this world developed quickly, but the environntal destruction was also severe. Many originally common animals had also reached the brink of extinction.
That mountain fire was the final push.
"Hah, so all the things I feared really happened."
Under the doctor's incredulous gaze, Loren suddenly tore off the instrunts attached to him and stood up.
"How are you standing up?"
Not just the doctor, everyone present looked as if they had seen a ghost. Reporters who had been waiting outside rushed in, scrambling over each other, wanting to judge Loren.
No one cared about those extinct animals. This world basically had no wild animals left.
"Boring. I'm leaving."
Loren drew an inverted cross on his chest. The mont he silently recited the honorific na of The Perpetual Observer, the surrounding scene was instantly shattered.
"I never thought I'd be affected by a nightmare. The hand of the God of Dreams can actually reach out to sea."
Being able to feel pain in the dream ant he was definitely under the influence of the God of Dreams.
This was a kind of subconscious nightmare that others couldn't spy on.
If soone really tried to spy on Loren's dream, they'd probably go insane instantly.
Loren found himself in a void. He could wake up if he wanted, but now he planned to study the most mysterious realm of dreams.
He had just tested it. Even though dreams are one of the relatively high-level authorities, they couldn't compare to a single hair of The Perpetual Observer. He had just silently recited The Perpetual Observer's honorific na and shattered the nightmare.
So Loren decided to try using the Abyssal Gaze Eye to see what situation the others were in now.
...
"Anna, all you know is how to eat. I don't want you anymore."
In front of Anna was a mountain of food, and behind her, a "Loren" was scolding her.
"Shut up, impostor!"
She just shouted, and the "Loren" in the dream had his mouth sewn shut, and even his face was torn off.
"Anyway, this is my dream. I can do whatever I want. If it weren't for that sentence of yours, I wouldn't have realized this was a dream. Master ntor would never say such a thing;
he loves the most.
"In dreams, you won't get a stomachache from eating. Don't disturb while I eat."
...
"Naclis, it's your fault! Get away from !"
"I! Forbid! You from saying such things while wearing Master ntor's face!"
In the dream, veins bulged on Naclis's forehead. Her shadow transford into a long blade, and with one slash, she cut the fake Loren in the dream in half. This was the first ti Loren had seen Naclis so angry.
...
Using the Abyssal Gaze Eye within the dream, Loren saw the dreams of the others. They were also having nightmares, dreaming of their greatest fears, and all of them were related to Loren.
Loren feared that all of this was false, that he hadn't actually transmigrated. They, on the other hand, feared being abandoned by Loren.
However, a nightmare is, after all, just a nightmare. It could never beco reality.
"Is the God of Dreams itching for a beating? Does he really want to be the first one I kill?"
Although it was just a nightmare, Loren was still sowhat displeased. He had already started thinking of ways to give the God of Dreams a real "job."
The scene before Loren rapidly transford, the surrounding white dissipating, until finally, he arrived before a thicket of thorns.
"Long ti no see, Forest of Dreams."
Loren just lightly touched a thorn and felt a heart-piercing pain. Even the pain from having his arm severed before was nothing compared to this. Even Loren frowned.
The Forest of Dreams, this was the territory of the God of Dreams, not in reality. The periphery was guarded by thorns;
even if soone approached this place in a dream, they couldn't enter.
"Since I'm already here, I'll give you a big one.
"God of Pleasure Cassian, I've given you the coordinates here. Co on, give a show!"
