"Rember to be a good person in your next life."

Loren thought of the people he had killed before—Mara, Eldrin, Valentina... None of them were good people, their hands stained with many lives, but compared to this Vampire Viscount before him, they were far too kind.

These kinds of murderous demons ultimately couldn't compare to capitalists who sucked the marrow from bones.

Watching as his body was about to be completely consud, the Vampire Viscount wanted to resist, but with his neck being choked, he couldn't even manage to chant at his level. In the end, he could only throw a desperate punch at Loren's face.

A punch thrown with all his might didn't even make Loren budge an inch. Loren's physical strength had already reached 45 points at this point, and on top of that, the Viscount couldn't even muster his full strength.

[Devour successful, Strength 1, Intelligence 1]

"Only these few attribute points? This Viscount isn't much either."

From start to finish, Loren didn't make much of a commotion. Those who saw him were all killed by him. Before leaving, Loren cast an ultraviolet light spell, pinned the bla on the Bloodline Rebels, and then phased through the wall to leave.

There were quite a few people inside the ancient castle, most of them ordinary folks. Loren couldn't be bothered to exterminate them all, and besides, it might cause other troubles.

"Not a bad haul."

When Loren returned, he was carrying two burlap sacks of money. Taking the money from selling the dicine wasn't enough. Loren also casually looted the Viscount's family warehouse. There were quite a few good things here, so Loren could only pick the most valuable ones to take.

Now, money was really just a number to Loren. Even if he didn't have enough, he could just go steal so on the spot, simply find a noble and empty their house.

After devouring the Vampire Viscount, Loren chose to go ho. He was still sowhat restrained. There were only so many high-ranking vampires. Killing a couple occasionally was fine, but killing too many would really cause trouble.

"I'm back."

Loren phased through the wall back into the room, put the clothes back on Gwen, and then it was Gwen's turn to go out and gather intelligence.

"Any developnts outside now?"

The bored Laila asked casually. She was lying on the sofa, her feet propped up on the backrest, her pant legs naturally sliding down to reveal the white stockings underneath.

"It's hard to explain in a few words..."

What was happening outside was indeed a bit too cruel. These vampires truly didn't understand the concept of sustainable, long-term gains. They directly wanted to drain the pond to catch all the fish, not considering at all what would happen if people truly couldn't survive anymore.

Even if people didn't think about overthrowing them, once ordinary people died out enough, they would lose their food source and economic source.

So many people ca to Uridia to work because they felt there were many opportunities here, and also because the technology was advanced. If that many people really died, people from other countries wouldn't think about coming here either. Only so brainless foreign-worshippers would continue, but those people were ultimately a minority.

"Tell , if the people at the bottom really rose up in rebellion, would there be any chance of successfully resisting?"

Laila sat by the window, looking at the scene below. At that mont, there was a corpse under the window, and several holess people were fighting over it.

After the virus appeared, corpses beca more and more nurous, causing the purchase price to drop significantly. But then a highly addictive drug appeared, making these holess people even more desperately in need of corpses than before.

Before, at worst they would go hungry, then pass away unnoticed in the night. Now, with withdrawal symptoms and the tornt of illness, they suffered more than death.

"Unlikely. Even if you gave each of them an ultraviolet lamp, it's still unlikely."

This world possessed supernatural powers. Even if ultraviolet lamps could instantly kill low-level vampires, the high-ranking vampires were the real threat.

They would still fear ultraviolet lamps, but they could kill all their enemies before getting injured themselves.

Ofemia was usually played with like a toy in Loren's hands, but Loren clearly understood her strength. She was a genuine Vampire Marquis.

So vampires with lower noble ranks, because of their good birth, had titles from birth, neglected training, and appeared weak. True high-ranking ones like Ofemia wouldn't have that situation.

With one spell from her, she could blast a large group of people to death, even if those people had ultraviolet lamps.

Vampires had strong magical talent, their innate mana was much higher than other races, and they had long lifespans. If it weren't for the Church above them, they might really rule over humans.

For humans to produce a ninth-rank mage required the right timing, geographical advantages, and human harmony. Only with talent, resources, and opportunity might a ninth-rank mage appear. Vampires, however, could brute-force it with their lifespan. Given enough ti, anyone could succeed.

Even soone as slow-witted as Lilith could stubbornly learn a single spell through sheer ti. You have to understand, even Scarlett, after following Loren for so long, hasn't learned a single spell.

"And then, there's the Church. Which side do you think the Church would stand on if ordinary people and vampires erupted into conflict?"

Laila fell silent. The best outco then would be the Church punishing both sides equally, forcibly stopping the conflict.

What the Church wanted was stability, not justice.

Lilith moved close to Loren, pressing her body against him.

After spending this ti together, Lilith had developed so dependency on Loren. She would feel flustered when she couldn't see him. Her mind wasn't good, she couldn't rember many things, but she rembered matters concerning Loren very clearly.

"Are vampires that bad?"

Lilith suddenly spoke, her tone carrying so dejection.

During this ti, Loren had also co to regard Lilith as one of his own. He said many things directly in front of Lilith, like criticizing the Church and condemning vampires.

Of course, more critical matters Loren didn't ntion, such as the identities of Anna and the other witches.

"Any group has good people and bad people. Vampires aren't necessarily all bad, but obviously right now, the bad ones make up the majority among vampires and have beco the face of vampires."

Many groups are like this. Starting out by garnering sympathy because they are a disadvantaged group, then once they gain a voice, their true colors are revealed, fully displaying their disgusting side.

At that point, even the few good people within that group would be drowned in the tide.

They walk their own paths into narrowness. Vampires are like this, that group of gay n who worship the epidemic are like this, certain extremist groups are even more so.

They won't reflect on themselves, they'll only continue to cause trouble, deepening people's stereotypes.

Loren's view on this was simple: if I see a snake, why should I take the risk to figure out if it's venomous or not.

Loren said all these things directly in front of Lilith. After living here for so long, even she could see many things.

When Loren said vampires were bad, she wouldn't rebut for her own group, because she knew the truth and was willing to acknowledge it.

It was also because of this that Loren felt fondness for Lilith, and not just because Lilith gave him the World Card.
