"Count Aisaco, could you reveal your plan a bit?"
Gwen, disguised as a vampire, joined their conversation and asked Aisaco a question.
Loren was quite knowledgeable about vampire culture, and his word choice also conford to vampire customs. When addressing a vampire with a noble title, one must add the title after the na.
Lower-ranked vampires must add the title when addressing higher ranks, while higher-ranked vampires addressing lower ranks do so based on their mood.
"Revealing a bit is fine. The humans of the Uridia Kingdom have now fallen into the abyss. To survive, they are willing to do anything, even risk their lives.
"So, with just a little guidance from us, they will be at our complete rcy. We don't even need to pay them wages. After all, if we paid them, they'd just use the money to buy dicine. It's better if we give them the dicine directly.
"The Canaan Kingdom has just experienced war, its military is nearly depleted, and they urgently need to replenish their combat strength..."
Aisaco didn't spell it out too clearly, but everyone understood his aning. Sending the people of Uridia to work as rcenaries... that was actually a relatively rciful approach. What the Canaan Kingdom might do with those people was sothing even these vampires dared not think too much about.
Even they would find it disgusting.
"My dicine isn't just sothing to be sold as a drug to the people of Uridia. With just a slight modification to the formula, it can be sold as sothing else to people of other nations. I believe the Plague Believers would like this stuff.
"And, oral administration can't achieve the maximum effect. I can modify it for inhalation, or even injection..."
Loren restrained the urge to just shoot Aisaco dead. Given Aisaco's level of caution, the person here might not even be his real self.
At this mont, Gwen still maintained her original expression, seemingly unconcerned about the matter.
The other vampires, however, began to look delighted, knowing just how terrifying the profits involved could be.
Over so many years, the wealth of Uridia had basically all fallen into the hands of the vampires. These ordinary people had already been squeezed dry, but other countries were different.
Other nations were still untapped treasure lands. If they could make their nobles, even their royal families, addicted to the dicine, just the thought of it was enough to make these noble vampires smile.
"By the way, none of you are taking the dicine, right?"
Aisaco suddenly asked. Hearing this, many vampires showed awkward expressions.
"You are the noble Bloodline! How can you touch this thing we use to control humans!"
Ofemia appeared particularly angry about the fact that other vampires were also taking the dicine.
"Don't be so angry, Marquis Ofemia. These drugs don't harm us either, and as the ones producing the dicine, we don't have to worry about not being able to afford it.
"Besides, the feeling when taking the dicine is quite wonderful. Count Aisaco, if you develop a better drug, rember to let try it."
Right then, the woman sitting next to Ofemia spoke up. She wore heavy formal attire, sat with her legs crossed, and as she spoke, she took out a bottle of dicine, swallowed a pill, and imdiately showed an expression of intoxication.
From her attitude, Loren guessed her identity. She should be the other Marquis.
"Thank you for your support, Marquis Selika. While these drugs damage human nerves, they pose no harm to us, the noble Bloodline. If everyone likes them, I can also provide the dicine to you all for free."
Aisaco's words confird Loren's guess. She was indeed the other Marquis, Selika.
Hearing this, the other vampires were sowhat tempted, but they still looked at Ofemia. Even though Selika had already voiced her agreent, as long as Ofemia opposed it, they couldn't afford to offend Ofemia.
"Marquis Selika makes a good point. Since everyone likes it, then feel free. But I still won't take the dicine."
Since Ofemia had given her word, the other vampires no longer hid their actions, directly taking out dicine on the spot and consuming it.
The matter of the dicine was just a minor interlude. What they discussed next was the main point.
"What are your thoughts on the matter of the Bloodline Rebels? Are we just waiting for Loren to develop a thod to resist ultraviolet light?
"And even if later we can ignore the threat from the Bloodline Rebels, we should still take revenge for the humiliation they've given us."
"Just a bunch of rabble, why care so much?"
Even while speaking, Selika didn't stop taking her dicine. In a short ti, she finished one bottle and imdiately got another from her maid.
"......"
Ofemia didn't refute her. Loren could also see that, even though both were Marquises, Selika's status was slightly higher than Ofemia's. Otherwise, Ofemia wouldn't have this attitude.
Loren had previously investigated. Selika was a Marquis from the Royal Capital, so her status was indeed higher than Ofemia's. Furthermore, she was older than Ofemia, and her strength went without saying.
It wasn't just Selika; other vampires held similar views. As long as the fire didn't burn them directly, they would consider it none of their business and would just stand by and watch.
However, out of respect for Ofemia's face, they didn't say much more.
Among all the vampires, Ofemia was the most dedicated. The matter of the Bloodline Rebels had always been handled by her. She even still wore a mask to this day, and her fangs were still with Loren.
A vein throbbed on Ofemia's forehead. Loren could feel her anger.
The most fundantal purpose of hosting this banquet was still to rally everyone to deal with the Bloodline Rebels together, yet they still maintained this attitude.
They even cared more about Aisaco's dicine than about the Bloodline Rebels.
"The mbers of the Bloodline Rebels cannot be completely exterminated. As long as people still harbor hatred for the Bloodline, the number of Bloodline Rebels will continue to increase.
"Especially recently, since we created this dicine, even more people have been drawn into the Bloodline Rebels.
"During this period, we've also dealt with many rebel hideouts, but it hasn't been of any use.
"Therefore, I think we should prioritize dealing with internal problems. Only by identifying who the real traitor is can we uproot the Bloodline Rebels completely."
What surprised Ofemia was that, apart from herself, the one who cared most about the Bloodline Rebels was actually Aisaco. Finally having soone support her, Ofemia quickly expressed her agreent:
"Count Aisaco makes a good point. To secure the outside, one must first secure the inside. But how do we find the internal traitor..."
Loren understood Aisaco's intention. He still wanted to make the vampires fight amongst themselves.
Occupying a high position, having great achievents, and being the most active in dealing with the rebels, Aisaco had the least suspicion. At this mont, Aisaco's status among the vampires was similar to Loren's status within the Church. No one would ever suspect he was the traitor.
For a mont, even Loren suspected that the Aisaco who had co to find him before was fake, simply to fra the real Aisaco.
