The teacher led Loren to the laboratory. The equipnt here had been updated once again, with many new additions.
"I'll take all of these. Send them over to when you have ti."
Loren selected one of each item he didn't have at ho. The teacher dutifully noted down all the equipnt. After Loren finished choosing, he accompanied Loren back to the classroom.
"Do you have ti to co back to the academy to teach?"
Following behind Loren, the teacher asked in a fawning, humble tone.
"Maybe. I don't have much going on lately anyway."
Loren had already mostly learned the Night Magic he had obtained earlier and had mastered many high-level spells. The next thing to do was help Lilith research magic that could resist sunlight, and incidentally, brew a bottle of [Scales to Dragon].
"If you could co, that would be wonderful..."
"Don't get your hopes up. It's very unlikely I'll co."
Loren directly poured a bucket of cold water on the teacher's hopes. There was nothing left here that could attract Loren. The only reason Loren ca to the school was out of sheer boredom.
"As you wish. Just hearing you say that is enough to satisfy ."
This teacher was considered a high-ranking mber within the academy, yet at this mont, he was being obsequious to the extre.
When the two returned to the classroom, there was still a long ti before class ended. The classroom had been quite rowdy, everyone discussing Loren. When Loren and the teacher returned, the room instantly fell silent.
"Luna, are you two coming back with directly, or are you continuing class?"
Right in front of the teacher, Loren spoke these words directly. However, the teacher had nothing to say. If Loren wanted them to leave, then there was sothing more important than attending school. He could completely understand.
After discussing for a few sentences with Jessica, Luna shook her head and chose to continue attending class here.
Whether she attended class or not didn't matter much to Luna, but Jessica needed to attend.
"What class is this?"
Loren turned his head and asked the teacher, who also answered respectfully:
"This is History class."
Hearing it was History class, Loren's interest was piqued. He hurriedly shooed the teacher away:
"Alright then, you can go. I'll substitute teach this class for you."
"Really? I'll leave right now!"
Hearing this, the teacher was overjoyed and imdiately ran out, afraid Loren would change his mind.
After the teacher left, Loren cleared his throat twice and instructed:
"Close the doors and windows. Today, I'll tell you about so real history...
What part had the teacher gotten to before I ca?"
Loren asked casually. Although he had a sudden whim to talk about so history, it didn't an he would actually talk about certain things that crossed the line.
However, while he couldn't talk about the Orthodox Gods, he could certainly talk about the dark history of the Gedlan Kingdom.
"He was talking about the previous war between the Gedlan Kingdom and the Canaan Kingdom. The King of the Gedlan Kingdom fought the enemy commander to the last mont, preserving the Gedlan Kingdom."
A student answered, his eyes filled with admiration as he spoke of these events.
"What nonsense. In that war, the Gedlan Kingdom lost miserably. The only general who could win battles was killed by the King you ntioned, who then hung his head on the city walls as an apology to the Canaan Kingdom.
"After that, there was all kinds of territorial concessions and reparations. Every ti they got hit, they'd cough up gold coins without even fighting back. Otherwise, why do you think the Gedlan Kingdom's territory is so small now, and so close to the Canaan Kingdom?"
Loren rembered this kind of inter-dinsional cowardly ruler incident quite clearly. Since he was substituting for history class, he casually told them about it.
After these words were spoken, the students all showed expressions of shock. This contradicted the history they had learned since childhood. Even Luna was stunned for a mont; she hadn't expected the real history to be like this either.
No one questioned Loren's words. If what Loren said differed from what was recorded in the books, then it must be the books that were wrong.
"You all rember the tragic state of the Wheat Ear Country, right? That's how it was in the Gedlan Kingdom back then too. Ordinary people were being slaughtered while the Nobles and Royals were still indulging in pleasure. In the end, they weren't affected at all.
"The Canaan Kingdom withdrew their troops not because they feared the Gedlan Kingdom's strength, nor because they received reparations. It was simply because they were afraid of crossing the Bountiful Church's bottom line.
"Generally, the Church doesn't interfere in secular conflicts, as long as it doesn't affect the faith in the Orthodox Gods. But according to the Canaan Kingdom's way of doing things, it would definitely impact the Orthodox Gods, so they ran away before touching the Church's bottom line."
If anyone else had said this, the mont the words left their mouth, they'd have been split into two paths by people wanting to attack the Canaan Kingdom. Unfortunately, the speaker was Loren, and what Loren said was also the truth.
From a macro perspective, the Church doesn't care about the internal affairs of a single kingdom. What Loren said doesn't affect the Church, so the Church won't bother with Loren.
From a micro perspective, the Church isn't a single entity; it's made up of individuals. These individuals have intricate, tangled interest relationships with the kingdom. Loren's words would definitely offend them, but Loren's status is high enough. They'd be scrambling to curry favor with him, so naturally, they couldn't possibly deal with him.
"Alright, just rember what I said. Don't write it on exams, and don't tell anyone else.
"The King can't kill , but killing you all would be a breeze."
Loren said it lightly, but the students below the podium were all breaking out in cold sweat.
"Alright, enough of this serious stuff. Let's talk about so gossip..."
Now that Loren had opened the floodgates, he also spilled the dirty secrets of the nobles and ministers. For example, a certain noble, to extend his lifespan, had unclear, improper relations with so gay n from the Bardo Kingdom; the new King prayed every day for his old father to die quickly...
These things were just gossip to Loren, but to the students, they were still quite frightening.
Loren talked straight until the end of class. When class was over, he didn't drag it out. He grabbed Luna and imdiately made his escape.
The mont he opened the door, he saw the teacher from before. He was also sweating profusely. Loren's words had scared him too.
These things weren't exactly secrets. Being able to reach his position, he knew a fair bit, but he didn't dare bring them up.
The more he knew about these things, the more afraid he was.
Usually, the King acted like a grandson in front of Loren, but he was still the King, capable of deciding the life and death of many people.
"Rember to send the instrunts to quickly. I'm leaving now."
Loren ignored him and directly left with Luna.
He didn't care whether the teacher had heard what he said. Even if he had, he wouldn't dare speak about it.
If you heard it, that ans you also know. Then you can't be left alive either.
And besides, no one had the authority to deal with Loren. Perhaps they could deal with the students who listened to Loren's lecture, but that would also be slapping Loren in the face—a responsibility the King couldn't bear.
...
Today, Jessica didn't follow Luna. Losing this external brain, Luna felt a bit flustered.
It was at this mont that she suddenly rembered what Mirrorheart had told her before, saying that after she beca an adult, she could go to Anna for lessons...
