The next day, the Church prepared a train for Loren. This ti, the number of Scarecrows sent for escort was exceptionally large. Not only were there so from the Gedlan Kingdom, but so had even traveled all the way from the Nofica Theocracy.
It's just that compared to other Divine Envoys, Scarecrows are much weaker and don't have any special abilities. So, no matter how many Scarecrows there were, Loren didn't feel much safer.
If a truly powerful individual were to attack Loren, this group of Scarecrows would just be speed bumps.
However, among this group of Scarecrows, there were also a few elite individuals. If sothing really happened, they could hold the line for a bit, so they weren't completely useless.
It's just that it was highly unlikely Loren would encounter any trouble on this journey. This was the territory of the God of Bountiful Harvest, and there were so many people from the Bountiful Church protecting Loren. Anyone who truly wished Loren ill would be making an enemy of the entire Bountiful Church, to the death.
The Nofica Theocracy was vast. It took Loren and Caroline a long ti even when flying, let alone traveling by train. They spent a considerable amount of ti on the road.
Fortunately, everyone was traveling in train sleeper compartnts. If they had been traveling by carriage, Loren didn't dare imagine how exhausting the journey would have been.
Even so, Scarlett seed a bit dazed when they got off the train.
"We're finally here..."
Anna looked around curiously, wanting to find a good dessert shop.
Although the train did provide desserts, they were far from as delicious as those from a proper shop.
As soon as they stepped off the train, Loren was greeted by the Church. Leading the group was an old man. His attire was very formal, giving off a lifeless feeling.
Loren estimated he didn't have much longer to live.
"Master ntor, greetings. I am the Headmaster of the Bountiful Magic Academy, Casper. I have long heard of your great na."
The old man was the first to greet Loren, extending his hand.
The Bountiful Magic Academy was the most prestigious magic academy in the Nofica Theocracy, and even within the entire territory of the God of Bountiful Harvest. It didn't need a particularly flashy na; the words 'Bountiful' alone were enough to signify its prestige.
Upon seeing Loren, a light that had been absent for a long ti flickered in his eyes, and Loren also sensed a trace of vitality from him.
"Oh, so you are Casper. I've heard much about you..."
You don't hit soone who smiles at you. Loren also extended his hand and shook Casper's.
Loren didn't recognize him by face, but after his self-introduction, Loren finally figured out who he was.
Casper, one of the few Ninth-tier Mages within the Bountiful Church, the pinnacle of contemporary humanity.
"You truly are unwilling to beco the Headmaster of the Bountiful Magic Academy? If you are willing, I can step down at any ti."
Loren detected the tone in his voice; he wasn't just being polite. These were genuine words, but Loren's disinterest in being Headmaster was equally genuine.
"Please, no. Although I know a bit more than the average person, I'm really not suited for managing others. Temporarily acting as a commander is fine, but truly managing such a large school is out of the question.
"This kind of thing is more suited to soone like you."
Loren, in turn, beca polite, taking the opportunity to flatter Casper a little.
Loren was sowhat familiar with the na Casper. Loren had seen his na in books before. Among the many Ninth-tier Mages, Casper was also a top figure. He had mastered many Ninth-tier spells and even knew many magics outside the Abundance Sequence.
No one questioned this, because no one doubted his loyalty to the God of Bountiful Harvest.
It's just that by the ti the ga's storyline began, he had already died of old age. Previously, Loren had never t Casper in person.
Lilith suddenly grabbed the hem of Loren's clothes. Arriving suddenly in such an unfamiliar place, Lilith was a bit scared. Only by doing this could she feel a little more at ease.
Loren simply picked up Lilith and planned to head back first.
"We've spent so much ti on the road, we're a bit tired. Let's discuss anything else next ti."
Hearing Loren's words, Casper felt a bit of regret, but he followed Loren's lead.
"My apologies, Master ntor, I was presumptuous.
"The Church has already prepared accommodation for you near the Bountiful Magic Academy. Let take you there now..."
Loren knew Casper had questions he wanted to ask, but out of respect for Loren, he suppressed his curiosity.
Previous books had given him high praise, calling him the pinnacle of modern mages, always pursuing stronger magic, devoting his entire life to magic, and so on. Loren hadn't paid it much mind before, but now he sowhat believed it.
Loren could also guess what he wanted to ask about, probably about Super-tier Magic. Only by mastering Super-tier Magic can mortals be ntioned in the sa breath as Angels.
It's just that, in this era, Super-tier Magic had long beco a legend. Forget learning it, not many even knew about it.
Casper didn't speak again afterwards. Loren could tell he was constantly restraining himself. The more he did so, the better it was for Loren.
As the pinnacle of contemporary mages, Casper had plenty of 'oil' that could be squeezed. Loren wanted to take this opportunity to extract more things.
The number of Ninth-tier spells Loren currently mastered was actually only two or three. Two of them were Abundant Magic with weak offensive capabilities, and the other was Night Magic.
"We're here, this is the place."
Casper led Loren to a villa. Even compared to the villa the King of Gedlan had ticulously prepared for Loren before, this one was no worse, if not better. And this was in the Royal Capital of the Nofica Theocracy, where land was worth its weight in gold.
This single house could probably buy an entire street in the Royal Capital of Gedlan.
"Thank you..."
After thanking him, Loren pushed open the door. Then he saw many Maids standing neatly in two rows. After Loren opened the door, they greeted him in unison.
"Welco ho, Master."
"..."
Loren had seen such grand scenes many tis before, but this was the first ti it was happening to him.
"I brought my own maid. I don't need so many people to take care of . Please send them all back."
Loren's expression didn't change much; he just said this to the Church mbers behind him.
After all, there were many things in Loren's house that couldn't see the light of day. Having so many outsiders around was inconvenient.
Moreover, it could continue to help Loren maintain his persona. Master ntor has always been incorruptible, with no pursuit of material comforts.
Upon hearing that Loren wanted to dismiss them, the Maids felt so panic. So, Loren had to first activate his money power, giving each of them a few gold coins to send them on their way.
Casper didn't say much either, simply obeying Loren's commands without question. This left the surrounding Bountiful Church mbers dumbfounded; it was the first ti they had seen Casper act so humble.
The Church people and the Maids soon left, leaving only Loren's people in the house.
"Everyone, rest for now. We'll go out to eat this afternoon, and tomorrow we'll visit the Bountiful Magic Academy..."
