Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System Chapter 651: Soul Weapon
The fire fox exploded.
A white mushroom cloud rose straight into the sky. The air turned into a wall of heat and light.
For a mont, it looked like the entire green land would burn.
Then the sky begin to vibrate.
Formations appeared one after another, layered like a net.
Golden lines lit up across the air, sealing the fla in place and forcing it inward, making sure it didn't spread any farther.
The mushroom cloud hit the invisible ceiling and stopped.
White fire folded back on itself, compressed by the seals, trapped inside a shrinking do.
At the sa ti, the land below began to heal.
The cratered ground smoothed out in fast waves, dirt pulling back into place as if ti was being reversed.
Broken trunks straightened. Shattered branches reattached.
In less than a minute, the wasteland returned to a green forest again, almost as if the fight had never happened.
The smoke thinned.
When it's dispersed, Saryx was still standing.
He returned to his humanoid form.
His body was scorched in several places, scales cracked and blackened along his ribs and neck.
Blood ran down his chest.
His eyes were returned to normal now, but the other one is still blinded.
Mingyue tightened her grip on her swords.
Alex's eyes stayed fixed on Saryx's.
The fight was still far from over.
Saryx looked down at the burned ground that had already healed.
Then he looked back at Alex and Mingyue.
"What are vampires like you doing here?" he said with a sneer. "A loser like you should hide back in your cave."
"Loser?" Alex's mouth curled. "And you, with your so-called dragon pride, only winning with underhanded thods."
Saryx's eyes narrowed.
In that mont, he realized it wasn't just any vampire standing in front of him.
They knew about the Progenitor War.
That kind of knowledge didn't belong to small clans.
Saryx himself only learned it because he was the Overlord's only son.
His voice turned colder. "Are you two Sovereigns?"
"Sovereign?" Alex gave a short laugh, full of mockery. "So you do know about vampires."
He took a step closer, speaking slowly, trying to pry information out of him.
"But why would you think a Sovereign would co after you? Did you do sothing, Prince?"
Mingyue stood at his side without speaking.
She was forcing her breath steady, recovering her strength while calculating.
So far, every simulation she ran ended with stalemate.
Even now, she could tell the dragon prince still hadn't shown everything.
If she wanted a win, the only thod left was to unleash a progenitor aura and press him down.
With their current transformation state, the effect would be instant.
But she didn't know what kind of thing it would trigger the mont they did it.
Saryx laughed, looking at Alex like he was filth.
"Seems you haven't heard. These last few years, I've been destroying all your outposts."
His lips pulled back slightly, showing sharp teeth.
"You vampires are like cockroaches. You keep crawling back no matter how many tis we stomp you."
From that exchange alone, Alex understood sothing.
There were probably no vampires left in dragon territory.
If any remained, it would be a single strong being locked sowhere.
The rest had likely been massacred.
'That ans if there are any captives, they'll be in human territory.
At least most of them.'
As Humans and dragons were the biggest winners of the last war.
They beco the two strongest factions in the universe now.
Alex doubted the other factions had the power or the thod to hold many vampires for long.
If they had any at all, it would only be a few.
As for the reason, it was simple.
Lifeforce.
Vampires could absorb lifeforce innately.
To other factions, they were filters.
They could feed a vampire any kind of living being, let it process and refine it, then harvest the output.
Far more efficient than the crude thods calyte used to farm humans.
"You only destroyed weaklings," Alex said. "Don't get too full of yourself, Saryx."
He stepped forward.
His lifeforce exploded outward, forming a green mist that wrapped around his body like smoke.
The air thickened, and the grass under his feet darkened slightly from the pressure.
Alex opened his hand, and his eyes flashed once as he rembered what the fox had done.
With a thought, he sacrificed one of the beasts he had captured.
The soul taken inside his space, then got pulled out and condensed into his palm.
A strong whirlpool ford.
Lifeforce, qi, and mana stacked together, layer after layer, forcing the soul into a stable shape.
The outline of a warhamr appeared.
The hamrhead solidified, runes crawling across the surface like veins.
Green mist wrapped the handle, sealing the flow, making it part of Alex's body.
Saryx's gaze locked onto the hamr, and his expression changed.
"What's that?"
It was sothing he had never seen.
It didn't feel like a weapon. It felt like a living beast.
"Sothing I learned thanks to Foxy's sacrifice," Alex said. "Now prepare yourself."
Alex moved in a blur and appeared right in front of Saryx.
BAM!!!
The warhamr ca down.
Saryx raised his arm, violent aura surging, trying to disperse the impact like he always did.
But this ti, the hamr didn't get stripped apart.
The runes on the hamrhead flared green, and the soul inside let out a roar.
The strike punched through the dispersion.
CLANG!!!
BOOM!!!
Saryx's chest took the hit. His scales cracked, and the shock went through his ribs like thunder.
He got knocked back.
A thin line of blood ran down his chest.
Alex didn't let him breathe.
He stepped in again, warhamr sweeping sideways.
Saryx twisted, wing appeared from his back to protect himself.
the hamr barely missed, creating a crater through the ground instead.
Saryx countered with a claw strike aid for Alex's throat.
Alex turned his shoulder and use multiple instant rune formation.
CRACK!!!
The runes protection shattered, but Alex was already moving, using the break as montum.
He brought the hamr up from below.
BAM!!!
Saryx blocked with his forearm, but the hamr's green aura bit into his scales, dragging his arm down and breaking his balance.
Saryx's lips curled, half rage, half excitent.
"So you finally brought sothing good."
