Mamadou had put his idea of leaving the forest on hold.

Since waking up, Mamadou had not eaten anything.
As far as his eyes could see, there were only leaves and the corpse of a snake.
He swallowed.
Mamadou was simply too hungry.

He grabbed the snake by its tail and lifted it.

Since he could not remain there, he carried it with him while keeping watch on his surroundings.

It appeared to be a natural cavern.
He entered and placed the snake inside.
Although he had acted in haste, he gathered leaves and dead branches and barricaded the entrance.
Even though he was now surrounded by darkness, it was still better than dying.
The cave’s temperature was perfect.
Its size was also ideal.
He had decided to make this place his new hideout.
"Alright..."
He began devouring the snake’s body.
The snake was large and thick, but he did not care.
He ate bite after bite.
Mamadou cried inwardly.
It reminded him of his childhood, when he sotis worried about finding sothing to eat, when he had been forced to consu strange als.
His current situation truly felt like a regression in the cycle of his life.
Was this so kind of punishnt?
That was the question Mamadou asked himself, making the taste of the snake—which should have been either good, bad, sour, or bland—feel utterly aningless.
The taste was bland.
"First I’ll regain my strength. Then I’ll beco stronger. After that, I’ll take control of those monkeys."
"If I can accomplish sothing like that, my chances of survival will increase, and I’ll have more manpower to explore the forest."
Nothing remained of the snake’s body.
Mamadou’s body relaxed.
His eyelids beca heavy.
Eventually, he closed his eyes.
As if a trendous weight had been lifted from his shoulders, Mamadou fell asleep.
And he slept for a very long ti.
"Damn, I dozed off."

There’s no watch here.
And I didn’t wake up either.
I felt pain, then I slept.
The dream hypothesis can be discarded.

Mamadou stood up and inspected the cave thoroughly.
This place could serve as a temporary ho.

Receiving no response from the System, Mamadou imdiately got to work.
He removed the dead branches and leaves blocking the entrance and began cleaning the cave.
It wasn’t exactly easy, nor was it pretty to watch, but he succeeded in creating a makeshift table by tying branches together with roots that served as rope.
Using the sa thod, he also created a bed.
The bed consisted of roots roughly braided together and attached on both sides to stakes made from dry branches.
Afterward, he searched for stones of various shapes around the cave and began carving them.
This would take more ti than everything he had done so far, but he did not beco discouraged.
The first object he crafted was a stone axe adapted to his body, with a wooden handle.
The result was far from impressive.

The only troubleso point was the Mana stat.
If creatures capable of using magic exist, or if magical skills exist, then I’m dood.
