Now reading: Chapter 13 Need More Felynes from Monster Hunter of the One Piece World, a Fantasy novel by EEvernight.

Just like the original Sanji, Sanji ow spirit was still tenacious. After a short mont of discouragent, he quickly recovered and cheerfully trotted over to the two boar king corpses, evaluating the newly acquired ingredients.

"Sa as yesterday, you caused too much damage to the ingredients, ow." After circling around and inspecting them, Sanji ow regretfully shook his little head.

"That smaller one is fairly well preserved, but it bled too much and has been left out for a while. The dish made from it will turn out a bit dry, ow."

"So..." The little yellow cat waved at Sherwin. "Hurry up and use your magical little knife to dig it out, ow!"

Even without Sanji ow saying it, Sherwin was already planning to do so.

He took out his hunting knife and approached the larger boar king nearby. With a quick stab and slice...

Boar Fang ×1Uh... not great luck...

If there were a smith, maybe this boar fang could still be used as a forging material. But in the current situation, even if they eventually found other humans, it was still highly unlikely that they could craft authentic Hunter gear.

Smacking his lips, Sherwin stabbed the knife down again.

"Puchi."

"Eh?"

The sound of blade piercing flesh was clear. Sherwin looked closely—his hunting knife had indeed sunk into the boar king body...

So, in this unknown world, even bosses can only be harvested once for materials?

Sherwin imdiately understood the situation and didn’t feel particularly disappointed.

After all, who knew if there were any Hunter smiths left? Whether or not materials could be carved didn’t seem that important anymore. Besides, this extra carve was basically a freebie—monster materials wouldn’t just disappear.

Flicking the hunting knife into a flourish, Sherwin moved over to the smaller boar king and began carving it...

Boar Hide ×1

Sherwin: "..."

Sanji ow: "..."

It really did look like their luck wasn’t great today.

Sherwin silently put away his hunting knife and casually stored the boar hide into his pouch...

Neither he nor Sanji ow knew how to process leather. In the past, any animal hide they got was either boiled and eaten or simply tossed away.

Now that they finally had a complete and preserved piece of hide, they could take it back and use it as a mattress.

Moreover, from the current situation, it was highly likely that there were no other intelligent beings on this island. So if they wanted to leave soday, this hide could be used to make a sail.

In fact, a long ti ago, when Sherwin first suspected this place might be an isolated island, he had already started thinking about leaving.

And once he confird that this was not the world of Monster Hunter, leaving beca sothing he absolutely had to do.

To be honest, if he had the choice, Sherwin really didn’t want to head out to sea. The ocean was far more dangerous than this resource-rich island.

But staying here for a lifeti? Forget it—not only would Sanji ow, who was determined to find a female cat, never agree, Sherwin himself wouldn’t be able to bear it either.

That said, there was no rush for now. Sherwin figured he should at least grow another two or three years older and improve his strength a bit more.

It would be best if he could summon one or two more Felynes—then he’d have more help for the voyage.

In the anti, Sherwin could take his ti making preparations.

And after analyzing his own advantages carefully, Sherwin felt that even if they set out to sea now, it wouldn’t be that big of a problem.

The dynamic map in the Hunter Manual could help ensure they wouldn’t get lost. And with the dinsional pouch, they didn’t have to worry much about supplies.

On top of that, Sanji ow knew a bit about navigation—though it was unclear whether that was just faithful character restoration or if Felynes were simply that versatile...

After all, whether it was the early owster hot air balloons, or the later Buddy Recon Units and trading ships, Felynes had always shown a high degree of professionalism when it ca to long-distance travel. So it was perfectly reasonable for Sanji ow to know a bit of sailing... wasn’t it?

Of course, it would be even better if he could soday summon a Nami ow or a Jack Sparrow ow or sothing like that.

While daydreaming, Sherwin and Sanji ow worked together to clean up the two defeated boar kings.

After that, they didn’t rush back imdiately but wandered around the area a bit more, expanding the explored portion of their map.

Only when the sky began to darken did they return to their temporary camp, carrying the day haul of ingredients and a few materials that might co in handy.

"Sanji, do you know how to make a tent?"

While Sanji ow was preparing dinner, Sherwin was taking stock of the various materials he had on hand and casually asked.

"I know the general process, but I’ve never made one myself... What up, ow?"

Hearing Sanji ow casual reply, Sherwin cheek twitched slightly...

He was starting to realize that these Felynes were all incredibly skilled—this chef cat could even do crafts!

But honestly, for Sherwin, this was the kind of good fortune he couldn’t get enough of, so he didn’t dwell on it and explained, "Of course it for exploring more of the map..."

Their current base wasn’t far from the beach where they had first awakened—it was still on the outer edge of the island.

If they wanted to continue exploring toward the island central region in the future, whether for temporary camps along the way or for fully relocating their base, a portable tent was going to be essential.

He hadn’t thought about this earlier because until just yesterday, Sherwin had still been planning to play the lone swordsman, grind his level to the max, and only then worry about exploring the map.

Besides, before discovering the hunting knife special abilities, they hadn’t even had the proper monster hide to make a tent.

"You have a point, ow..." When it ca to anything related to Beautiful big sister Felynes, Sanji ow got unusually serious.

"Even if we don’t need to move just yet, spending so ti learning how to make a tent isn’t a bad idea, ow."

So after finishing dinner, Sanji ow went over the entire tent-making process he knew with Sherwin in detail.

Based on what Sanji ow described, Sherwin then sorted out all the materials they would need...

"Hmm, we still need to chop so flexible branches for the fra... Too bad there no bamboo on this island... and the monster hide might not be enough."

Since neither of them had unlocked any tailoring skills, the issue of hide wastage had to be taken into account.

That piece of boar king hide originally intended to be used as a mattress or sail now had to be repurposed for making the tent first.

Over the days that followed, in addition to hunting and training, Sherwin added tent-making practice to his daily routine.

The tent fra wasn’t particularly difficult—once they found the right kind of wood, they just needed to shape it by heating it over fire.

With Sanji ow, an expert chef cat who knew exactly how to control heat, by his side, they only failed once on their very first stick. After that, they got it right every ti.

Next ca tying all the prepared sticks together with vines to secure the fra. Once that was done, the entire structure was complete.

The real trouble ca with sewing the hide. Just as Sherwin had feared at the start, he only vaguely rembered so simple stitching techniques from elentary school craft classes. So in the beginning, he ended up wasting quite a bit of hide trying to sew.

It took a long ti of practice before Sherwin stitched hide pieces could even be considered passable. But even then, they weren’t very reliable in terms of durability or sealing. So for now, he could only practice on smaller pieces of hide.

During that ti, Sanji ow also tried to help out, but his tailoring skills turned out to be even worse than Sherwin.

What more, when he was stitching the hide, his cat claws would often accidentally poke through, punching several holes in the piece he was working on.

Although this finally gave Sherwin sothing to mock Sanji ow about—being all thumbs—he still would’ve much preferred to have a Machi ow, Tomoyo ow, or Uryu Ishida ow to free him from this task.

And aside from a tailor Felyne, Sherwin was also hoping to summon a craftsman cat with shipbuilding skills...

Thinking about it that way, that one Felyne Companion Summon Ticket that was still only one-third complete was nowhere near enough!
