August 7, 2014. 7:35 AM, Hongzhou Hongcheng.

A week and a half after a certain young Transcendent’s Awakening.

Although it was early August, for students going from their second to third year of high school, the new school year was just around the corner. With most of their review sessions over and sumr howork finished, many had started getting together early to catch up. They’d chat about how their sumr howork went, what subjects they focused on reviewing, and all sorts of other trivial matters.

However, a certain Demon Hunter, who was being monitored by both the national Security Bureau and the local Patrol, had recently been completely imrsed in hunting small Extraordinary demonic creatures, forging weapons, and practicing his cold weapon techniques, leaving him with no ti for distractions.

The cultivation of [Sacred Geotry] wasn’t complicated. The main thing was that it varied from person to person and race to race. The specific Cultivation thod for each mind was different, making it difficult to share experiences until one reached a certain level.

For Su Zhou, cultivating Sacred Geotry was simply a matter of connecting all the scattered points of Spiritual Qi within the acupoints and ridians of his body, forming them into Holy Triangle structures of various sizes. Countless Holy Triangles would then form one great Holy Triangle pyramid, signifying the Perfection of this stage of cultivation.

With Su Zhou’s Cultivation Talent and physical gifts, it wasn’t difficult for him to manipulate his Spiritual Power to construct Spiritual Qi Holy Triangles, strengthening his body, Spiritual Qi, and Soul. His constitution was so strong that even now, before the Spiritual Energy Revival had fully taken hold, the speed at which he absorbed Spiritual Qi was more than enough for his cultivation needs.

This was precisely the difficulty most Cultivators faced. They either couldn’t control their Spiritual Power well enough to build the internal Spiritual Qi structures required to beco a Transcendent, or their Spiritual Qi absorption rate was too slow, leaving their actual power lagging even when their cultivation realm was sufficient.

But even with Su Zhou’s outstanding Talent, cultivation took up half the day, and eating and sleeping took up the other half. Where was he supposed to find the ti to hang out with anyone?

"He’s still studying for exams."

"Oh, yeah, I totally believe that."

In order to explain his friend’s absence to their classmates, Shao Qiming, who was a terrible liar, had racked his brain for an excuse. Fortunately, everyone respected the top student enough to pretend to believe him.

Until today.

"This blue-green Spiritual Qi is at least two or three tis denser than when I started, Yara."

Su Zhou looked up as he erged from a riverside breakfast shop, a stack of electronics flyers in hand, and let out a cheerful sigh that only a well-fed Transcendent with nothing better to do could manage. "I feel like I could get stronger just by lying down!"

"An illusion. Don’t get lost in the false sense of power that cos with the Spiritual Energy Revival. What you need most right now is to build a solid foundation for the future."

A small, ruby-like snake appeared by Su Zhou’s ear and sighed. "After you crudely forged that Cross Spear of yours a few days ago, you’ve been focusing on learning ard combat. That’s not a bad thing, but don’t forget that the root of cultivation lies within yourself. You said you’d continue hunting Evil Demons, but you’ve just been going out at night to kill a few spiritual creatures and common Resentful Spirits for fun... That’s not good. The growth of your Wisdom Fruit is not exactly encouraging."

"I know, Yara. But instead of the dangerous alternative of running all over a city full of surveillance caras, trying to find traces of an Evil Demon by pure luck..."

...the eating machine tucked the flyers into his pocket, stretched his arms, and hopped on his bike, heading toward his residential complex. "I have a much simpler and more ti-efficient way to find an Evil Demon!"

"Oh?" Yara couldn’t help but ask curiously. "And what might that be?"

Su Zhou, who had inherited his family’s bloodline of Patrol officers, had a sharp glint in his eyes. He declared proudly in his mind, ’It’s simple.’

’Ask my dad.’

Ask his dad.

Ask his dad, who happened to be a captain of criminal investigation.

"That is indeed a good idea, but have you no sha?!"

Yara couldn’t help but retort, "Oh, right. Your family’s philosophy seems to be ’if you run into trouble, just call the police and don’t try to handle it yourself.’ But I bet when they told you that with worried looks on their faces, this is definitely not the scenario they had in mind!"

"Close enough, close enough."

As the man and snake bantered, they arrived ho.

Without them realizing it, seven days of August had passed. It was now the ninth day since Su Zhou’s Awakening and his dispelling of the Curses on Aunt Wen and Shao Qiming.

During this ti, it wasn’t just Su Zhou who had changed, but the entire world.

He hadn’t turned off the TV when he left, so the mont he walked in the door, he was greeted by a news broadcast from Zhengguo Central Platform, delivered in a prim and proper Mandarin accent.

"...reforms to the new-style Academies are necessary. The Central Committee has confird that in the coming months, three new A Class specialized Academies with all-new majors will be established in the Celestial State’s Celestial Capital, Huzhou’s Modu, and Shanzhou’s Anx City. Furthermore, a new major will be added to the curriculum of the existing seven hundred and twenty Academies..."

"Huh?" The news stunned Su Zhou, who was about to beco a third-year high school student. "Brand-new A Class Academies? And they’re creating entirely new majors?!" he exclaid in shock. "This is the first ti sothing like this has happened in the three-hundred-year history of Zhengguo!"

"Even when the Longzhou Jiuquan Academy was upgraded from a B Class ’Rocket Technology’ Academy to an A Class ’Cosmic Exploration Major’ Academy, it only happened because it replaced another, technologically outdated A Class Academy... And while adding a new major isn’t unheard of, when you combine it with the new Academies, could this be a whole new path to becoming a Saint?"

"Isn’t it obvious?" Yara knew what was going on with just a glance. The snake explained to its Contractor, "Think about it. A few months from now, the Spiritual Energy Revival will have been underway for so ti, right? Just imagine what kind of people these Academies will be for."
