I had been watching my mate through the space in the ceiling for a long ti. I haven’t gone to et her because the instant I located the room she was in, I saw that she was quite busy.
Nolan had been pestering ever since to et her, but I knew well that she was busy.
There was a large dead hybrid creature beside her.
At first, I thought that she was weird for having such a nacing creature stay next to her. That was until I realized that she was using its blood and so other parts of its body to create a cure for the humans’ president’s daughter.
What was even more shocking was the fact that she had not been able to sense my presence since I got close to her.
I know that I have currently concealed my scent. But, previously, she was able to sense my presence even after I had concealed my scent. Except for the last ti I appeared in front of her and didn’t conceal my scent.
But why wasn’t it working today?
Was it because she was busy? Or, was it sothing else? Or...
I stopped being distracted and focused on my mate.
A bright smile appeared on her lips as she stared at the vial in her hand.
There was liquid inside the vial, and its color was blue. Not minding the liquid inside the vial anymore, my gaze never left my mate’s side.
Her smile made my heart flutter and I had to place my hand on my chest. She was so beautiful.
It was as if I was enchanted by her.
"I did it! I was finally able to create a cure after so many failures. I just hope it truly works". She exclaid, before the smile on her face vanished and was replaced by a gaze that was fierce and serious.
Her fierce gaze caught off guard. I wouldn’t lie.
"You can co out now. You have been hiding there for quite a long ti. Aren’t you tired and uncomfortable already?". She asked.
My eyes widened. ’Is she referring to ?’. I wondered and had to believe that she was referring to because there was no one else inside the research room other than , she and the dead hybrid creature. And she couldn’t possibly be talking to the dead hybrid creature.
I had to co out of the ceiling through the ceiling’s access panel.
After jumping down from the ceiling, I dusted my clothes. My back was facing her. So when I finished dusting my clothes, I turned to her and asked, "For how long did you know I was in the room with you?".
"From the very second you arrived". She casually replied to , causing to beco dumbstruck.
So, all this while she knew that I was on the ceiling but did nothing about it and made remain on the ceiling for hours?
How cruel. How could she do this to her own mate?
I felt like scolding her and complaining, but I had to restrain myself. Because why the heck would I scold my mate?
Looking on the bright side, she didn’t look scared of this ti.
"Why have you been showing yourself to ? Especially your face? I thought no one had ever seen your face before? Is it alright for you to show your face to ? Do you plan to silence later on?".
"I would never do that to you!". I panicked and got close to her.
But her left palm faced , indicating that I shouldn’t get closer to her.
I did as she said and didn’t get any closer to her than I already did.
In front of her was a table which stood in between us.
"Do you want to fight ? Is that why you have been appearing to lately?". My mate asked , making wonder, how could she think of sothing like that?
Wait. Is it because she thought I wanted to fight her, that she feared before?
I was about to explain myself to her when her cell phone rang.
She glared at and was cautiously staring at as she dipped her hand into her pocket and took out her cell phone.
"Who is this? Speak". She said to the person.
Her voice was composed, and, at the sa ti, strict and sweet. I an, who would not fall for such a beautiful person?
"What?!". She exclaid, making beco alard. "You are saying that it wasn’t the sa demon? So you an that there are other demons too, other than the one I fought with?".
The word ’demon’ brought back so many mories from the past.
The mories were vivid in my head as if they were currently happening again.
"Stay hidden here and don’t co out, Nikolai". My father’s rough voice softly said to .
He made hide in my mother’s large wardrobe because it had a secret hideout in it.
"Dad, please what is going on? I am scared". This word rang in my head and I felt a sharp pain in my head, making hold my head and fall to the ground. The voice was mine.
"Hey, what’s wrong with you?". I heard a voice asking , but I couldn’t reply to the voice.

I was completely confused. I didn’t know or understand what was going on.
But I knew one thing for sure. My family was hiding sothing from .
I remained in the wardrobe’s hideout for up to ten minutes, before I began to hear agonizing cries outside. I grew terrified. I didn’t know what was happening outside, but thinking about my family, I ca out of the wardrobe’s hideout and ran outside the mansion.
