"I hope that I am just overreacting". I said as I got out of bed, since I couldn’t go back to sleep.
I stared at Fireball and Irving, who were peacefully asleep on the bed, before I stared at the indoor slippers that were next to my bed. I did not want to wear the slippers at first, but my intrusive thoughts won against my will not to wear them.
In the end, I wore them and left the room.
I was heading to the living room to grab a bottle of water.
After I finished eating so minutes or hours ago, I forgot to drink water from the bottled water the room service server had brought for . So right now, I was feeling thirsty and needed to drink water.
I arrived in the living room.
All the lights were switched off, causing the room to be dark. But thanks to the full moon’s light, the room wasn’t that dark.
Ha. I love full moons.
Full moons are the monts when us werewolves’ powers are at their peak.
Speaking of the full moon, it was at this mont I noticed the torn curtains. What happened to them?
Anyway, I ignored the torn curtains, as that wasn’t the reason why I got out of bed and went to the living room.
The instant after I grabbed the bottle of water from the table, that was when I saw Beta Damien, who was sitting on the single seater sofa, with his eyes fixed intensely on the screen of his cell phone.
"Beta Damien?". I called him, and when he didn’t reply to , I went and touched him.
As expected of beta Damien, he didn’t flinch after I touched him, but he lowered his cell phone and lifted his head, thus staring at .
"It’s you. Aren’t you supposed to be asleep?". He simply said.
"What are you doing? You were so preoccupied and didn’t even notice my presence. What is interesting enough to keep the great beta of my shadows’ pack distracted?". I asked him this question while I opened the bottle of water that was in my hand.
I directed the bottle of water to my mouth and was drinking it when beta Damien replied to , "Demons".
I paused and stopped drinking the water, wiping off the drops of water that escaped from my lips, using the back of my hand. "How far has the news about the demons circulated?". I inquired.
"I believe across the world. I recently figured out about demons". He replied to , and it seed like he was trying to read my expression.
"What?". I asked him.
Beta Damien showed his cell phone’s screen to as he rose from the sofa. "For how long have you known about the demons? Anders told that Alpha Anastasia had fought with a particular demon which possessed his father’s uncle’s body. And he also told that the demon was after him to possess his body. But, neither you nor Alpha Anastasia told anything about it. Is that how you treat your beta wolf?".
’That blabbermouth’. My face darkened as I thought. "We didn’t tell you about the demons simply because we didn’t want more people to find out that demons exist, as that would make them beco frightened. Besides, our plan to keep the demons a secret got ruined after a demon possessed Alpha Dylan’s beautiful lover".
"I’m not just anyone, Alpha". Beta Damien said to .
Judging by his voice, he seed very disappointed, as if Clara and I had stabbed him in the back.
I sighed. "I am sorry. Next ti, Anastasia and I will try not to hide anything from you again, beta Damien". I assured him.
But it was a lie. Clara and I are hiding so many things from him. Well, it wasn’t only him we were hiding things from.
"Please take a seat, Alpha". He gestured to to sit down.
I knew that he must have sothing he wanted to tell , for him to say that I should sit down. So, I willingly chose to sit down.
By chance, I turned to the long sofa, and when I didn’t see the Lycan King lying on it, I asked, "Where is he?".
"I tossed him into the other bedroom and made him stay there with Anders". Beta Damien’s words never cease to amaze .
Did I just hear him say that he tossed the Lycan King into the other bedroom? Wow.
He should be thankful that the Lycan King was asleep when he did that. If not, even I would not be able to tell what was going to happen.
But if Beta Damien and the Lycan King should fight, who would win? I put my bet on the Lycan King. Not because I liked him, but because I could tell that he was dangerously strong. It still puzzles .
Does that an that, up till this current mont, Beta Damien was not able to sense the Lycan King’s presence and understand that the young man whom he said he tossed was the Lycan King?
Beta Damien took his seat. He kept his cell phone aside. "What are we going to do about the demons, alpha? It seed that we had misjudged the Lycan King all this while. If only we had believed him when he told the world that it was a demon who had attacked his pack, we would have trained earnestly and prepared for this day".
"We have no other choice but to fight any demons we see, Beta Damien. I am speaking from experience. Those demons are here for trouble. You can’t negotiate any terms with them". I replied to him and it was the truth.
Those demons (that is, if there truly were other demons other than black shadow), especially black shadow, can never be ready to negotiate with anyone.
I believe that all they want to do is to destroy the world.
Beta Damien nodded at . "How much stronger have you and Alpha Anastasia beco?".
"Well, we have improved. But I can’t be compared to Anastasia. Not everyone might be aware of this, but I can’t use any of Anastasia’s powers. So she will forever remain stronger than I am". I replied to him and waited to hear what other questions he had for .
I was vigilant, because beta Damien was smart. One wrong move and I might end up revealing what I was not supposed to reveal.
"About Anders. Since that demon is after him, is he going to keep on following you wherever you go? That is improper".
’I knew it. I have to be careful around beta Damien’. I thought, before I grinned as I replied to Beta Damien, "You are right, beta Damien. Anders following is improper. But don’t worry. He is not going to keep on following because Anastasia has already co up with a solution". As I said this to him, I stood up and added, "Please don’t ask what the solution is. I’m as clueless as you, because Anastasia has left in the dark about the solution. But don’t worry. If Anastasia regains control, you can directly ask her about it".
"I’m sleepy. See you tomorrow, Beta Damien". I fake yawned as I made my way back to the bedroom.
’You should ask Clara yourself. She is more cunning than . But if she chooses to tell you the truth, then whatever. That’s on her and not my problem’. I thought, and as I arrived in the bedroom, I finished the water and tossed the water bottle on the ground, before I laid on the bed and slept off.

Caden’s pov,
I woke up thanks to Chase exclaiming.
We both didn’t sleep early last night, but here he was. He had already woken up from sleep. What a hassle.
Groaning as I covered my head with the pillow, I calmly asked him, "What is it now, you?".
"According to the news, our sister had succeeded in treating President Michael’s daughter. What other professional doctors couldn’t achieve in months, she did that within hours!". Chase exclaid, and I admit it, I removed the pillow from my head and sat on the edge of the bed, with my feet touching the ground.
"Are you really serious, Chase?".
"Yeah, duh!". He replied to .
’Just how many talents does our new sister have? Are you sure the internet is telling the truth? I don’t believe it’. Jeremy, my wolf, said.
Jeremy was the opposite of , just the exact sa way Vachan was the opposite of Chase.
"I don’t know, Jeremy. I guess we will have to find out about that if we et her face to face". I replied to him and stood up on my feet. Scratching my ssy hair and the back of my waist, I added, "We should prepare to et our sister, Chase. Since she has healed President Michael’s daughter, I don’t think she will remain in this city much longer".
"Now? Oh, sure, Caden. But we have to be careful. Demons exist in this world too, not just wild beasts and hybrid creatures".
