"Cap- Captain. That’s the last of them!". A soldier said. His deep voice cracked, since he had exhausted himself.
He was the soldier who was in charge of handling one of the many machine guns.
The captain he was referring to ca out of the military battle tank, revealing a muscular, tall, sweaty guy. His neatly cut black hair was drained with his sweat.
His face was cold, and his gray eyes darkened as he stared at the damage that had been done to the city. Up to four skyscraper buildings that were the closest to the fighting scene had been destroyed. Not all the way to the ground, but many parts of the buildings’ bodies have fallen apart.
All the damage done to the buildings was mostly caused by the flying hybrid creatures, because for the soldiers to be able to bring them down, they had to use their fighter jets to bring them down.
His face turned even more cold with regret as he stared at his fellow soldiers.
Most of them were lying dead on the ground beside the dead hybrid creatures, while those who survived had lost either an arm, a leg, or were injured very badly.
The scene before him looked like hell. But he was glad that the civilians weren’t there to witness such a bloody scene.
"Captain, this is the heart of our diamond-heart city. And it is close to the president’s mansion. I think it is best that you leave before soone who knows you spots you here". The sa soldier, who had reported to the captain that that was the last of them, ca to him and said.
Jace groaned and ruffled his hair. Then he stared at the gloves he was wearing. They looked worn out.
"Give an update about the soldiers we lost today, Soldier Ford. I must make sure that all of them have a befitting burial and that their families are compensated". Jace said.
"Understood, captain". Ford saluted and watched as Jace left.
Jace’s car was parked on the other side of the battle site, so he went there.
Fortunately, his car was the way he left it.
After he got into the car, he drove off, heading to his friend’s house.
He didn’t want to return to his penthouse or his father’s mansion, as he didn’t want people, especially his family, to see him in this state.
His family had no idea that he was a soldier who had always been risking his life fighting the wild beasts. That was until the hybrid creatures beca a thing too, causing him to have no choice but to fight them also.
Whenever he wasn’t in his uniform, you would find him living a normal life with his family while pretending to be a weak young man. But whenever he was in his uniform and was in battle, he always beca a beast, who was let out of his cage.
His father wanted him to be a politician like him, but that wasn’t his passion in life. His passion in life was to be a soldier and defend his country, his people, especially the weak and helpless ones.
As a result of that, he had been living a double life, since he hadn’t found the courage to reveal to his family who he truly was.

I had escaped from the hotel and returned to the place where my attack started. Smoke filled everyone, and not a single alive soul was present in the magnificent scene that the hybrid creatures and I had caused.
By now, I should be admiring the destruction I have caused, but I wasn’t in the mood for that.
The only hope I had found to bring my wife back was gone.
Yes, the moon goddess was my wife’s reincarnation, but she had forgotten about us. I had intended on using the dark liquid crystal to bring her old self back.

Author Tina Nwuba: "My aweso readers, I found out today about the mistake I made in Chapter 5, when Elektra fought with Eleanor’s wolf and Eleanor. I made it seem in episode 5 that Eleanor’s legs got broken when she was in her wolf form.
That was a mistake. I ant to make it seem that her legs were broken in her human form. The mistake has already been corrected, but I had to clarify that mistake here because this book has been translated to different languages, and I don’t know whether the mistake will be corrected there. So I am clarifying this mistake here in this Chapter so that my other readers of different languages will see this ssage when this Chapter is translated to their various languages.
