"Anastasia, are you alright?". I asked her, and sothing I had not felt in a long ti lingered inside my heart.
It was fear. I was afraid of losing her.
Beta Damien tried to take her away from my arms, but I was done hiding and done being defied by anyone else who was not my mate.
I stopped concealing my aura and unleashed everything, to show them what they were truly dealing with.
My eyes darkened.
"Back off. I will hold my mate myself. I don’t need any of you to do that for ". I declared.
I saw Beta Damien, Fireball and Irving clenching their fists, but neither of them dared to attack . At least, I was pleased to see that all of them knew what was best for their Alpha.
Because with her like this, sick and pale in my arms, she would not appreciate a commotion like fighting to break out.
My eyes shifted to the twins because I could sense their fears. Although fearful, one of them, who had golden hair like my mate, dared to look directly in the eyes and didn’t avert his gaze. He must not have an idea that I was the Lycan King. Or did he, but still dared?
Then my eyes shifted to the random kid because of his fears too, but he turned his face from but kept on glancing at with his fearful eyes from ti to ti.
I ignored them all and returned my attention to my mate.
"Are you alright?". I imdiately asked her as soon as her eyes opened.
"I am alright". She said and tried to stand straight by herself, but she collapsed again on my body, against my chest.
"Alpha Anastasia".
"Sister".
"Sister!".
Everyone was worried, and the twins who remained sitting rose from the sofa, giving an idea.
I carried my mate in my arms and went and laid her down on the sofa. ’What do you an that you are alright? Do you think I am blind?’. I asked her through mind link and was a little annoyed.
What I have noticed about her was that she liked to do things her way and loved to be independent.
But it was okay to be dependable sotis and rely on others when sick.
Though that was sothing I have never done before, ever since I lost my family.
’I don’t want anyone to worry about ’. My mate’s voice ca through my head.
I furrowed my brows after listening to what she said. ’Well, you should have known that I was going to be worried about you after you almost collapsed on the floor’. I replied to her and found myself ruffling my hair.
I was hurt, even though she was clearly the one hurt. I used the opportunity to place my hand on her forehead to examine her temperature.
Her forehead was hot, and so was her neck when I touched it.
"What do you think you are doing?". Damien ca forward and asked .
Even Fireball and Irving did the sa thing.
"She is burning up. Go get the doctor". I replied to him.
"Don’t worry about , you guys. I can easily heal myself instantly. It’s just a simple cold I caught". My mate said to us, before she stubbornly sat up on the sofa and her hands and her body began to give out a yellow glow.
As we watched what she was doing, we all remained quiet and observed.
Many seconds passed, and her appearance had beco much better, but one could still be able to tell that she was sick.
"This should be enough for now". I heard her mutter.
"Is that all? You still look sick". I said to her.
"I am currently exhausted because of the cold I caught. I am not ready to heal myself completely because I have not yet healed my aunt. My powers have their limits. So I must heal my Aunt first after the blood transfusion is over, before I will heal myself. I don’t want to take any chances and allow sothing unexpected to happen". She replied to and coughed.
I can’t. What a stubborn mate I have.
"You are strong, Alpha Anastasia. You should heal yourself first. I believe you can heal Penelope without any unexpected thing happening". Fireball said, and I grew suspicious when my mate did not get annoyed by the fact that Fireball called her Aunt by her na directly.
Now I am certain. There was sothing about this Fireball and Irving that was too fishy to be missed.
Right now, I could sense the scents of werewolves in my mate, in beta Damien, the random kid, and the twins.
But this Fireball and Irving. I can’t sense any scents of werewolves coming from them. Neither did they have any scents of humans coming from them.
I would not say that they were werewolves because werewolves do not have the ability to conceal their presence or their scents like we Lycans.
Neither would I call them humans, because what ordinary human would be able to conceal their presence and their scents from ?
They are sothing else.
Sothing I have never seen before.
And the fact that they were sticking to my mate and always calling her their mama was enough to pique my curiosity.
"No, Fireball, and that is final. I must heal Aunt Penelope first before I heal myself. Also, anyone who dares to stop will be my enemy". My mate declared.
I could dare to stop her, but hell nah.
I did not co this far to end up becoming her enemy.
Besides, I want to be the mate who always respects her choices and personal space.
I heard she was a doctor.
My mistake. She is not a doctor, but she was great at dicine. I guess she knew pretty much what she was doing.
I should not worry about her.
But who am I kidding? I am crazy worried about her right now!
