"You’re back?" She had just opened the oven and turned around, "I just finished baking cookies, want to try so? No cream added."
Gu Annan’s lips curved slightly as he walked in, "All of a sudden, so diligent."
"Yeah, seeing how busy you’ve been lately, a little treat for you."
He glanced at the carefully molded cookies and noticed they were all cartoon shapes...
His lips twitched instantly, and the smile that was in his eyes froze.
Does this woman take him for a fool?
Clearly, these are cookies for children, and she claims she made them especially for him?
"Why such a disdainful look? Try one." Lu Wanwan saw his expression and thought he disdained these little things.
Back on his birthday when she had no money, this was her gift, and he hadn’t minded.
Surely he wouldn’t feel now that her gesture was insufficient.
In her hurry to reach out, she forgot how hot they were fresh out of the oven.
Touching the tal tray burned her fingers, and she cried out in pain.
"Idiot!" Gu Annan frowned, swiftly pulling her over, "Is that how you handle it?"
He grabbed her hand and held it under the faucet to rinse.
"It hurts, I didn’t do it on purpose, just forgot for a mont..."
Gu Annan pulled her quickly out of the kitchen and said to Aunt Li, "Get so burn ointnt, and from now on, she’s banned from using the oven."
"Why?!" Lu Wanwan protested upon hearing his unreasonable demand, "If it wasn’t for your disdainful look, I wouldn’t have been in such a rush."
He pressed her onto the sofa, and Aunt Li brought over the burn ointnt, advising, "Young Madam, it’s better if you stay out of the kitchen. Spending ti there, bumps and scrapes are inevitable sotis; if you get hurt, the young master will be distressed."
"I wouldn’t be distressed over such a silly woman." Gu Annan said with a dark expression, as he applied the ointnt on her.
Aunt Li saw his expression, smiled with pursed lips, and quickly left to avoid being the third wheel.
Though he spoke harshly, in truth, he wasn’t assured until he applied the dicine on her himself.
Lu Wanwan quietly watched him applying the dicine, not taking it to heart.
But this scene felt familiar, as if every ti she got hurt, he would be angry, speak harshly, yet patiently apply dicine personally, because he thought she wasn’t careful enough.
She sighed softly in her heart, wondering why she used to think he didn’t like her enough.
Seeing her finally quiet and letting him apply the dicine without a word, Gu Annan looked up, only to find her zoning out, with her expression as if she was daydreaming in outer space.
How could she be so distracted even beside him!
Before he could say anything, she suddenly looked at him, her bright eyes like gems, making one want to just...
"Is it because you like that you do these things for ?" Lu Wanwan suddenly spoke up.
Gu Annan paused his actions, gazing at her.
"No, I should ask, is it because you love that you do these things?" Lu Wanwan looked at the ring on her hand and imdiately corrected herself.
He was montarily stunned, the subtle curve of his lips revealed a slight mischievous intent, as he casually closed the ointnt bottle and said, "Yes, I do it because of love. How can you love without doing?"
The bit of emotion she felt earlier was instantly dashed away!
Lu Wanwan quickly retracted her hand, "I’ve packed everything up. Since you don’t like the cookies, I’ll have them put away and bring them with on the plane to snack on."
"You really dare to say that, are you sure those cookies were made for ?" The man, gritting his teeth, had a look as if he wanted to devour her.
