He strode forward and pulled her into his embrace, "It’s nothing, Mr. Liancheng just had sothing to tell suddenly."
"It’s two in the morning..." Lu Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief.
What could be so urgent to say at two in the middle of the night?
"Were you worried about ?" Gu Annan lowered his head.
She glanced at him speechlessly. This wasn’t a place they were familiar with, and Gu Annan’s identity indeed could easily stir malicious intent.
"Miss Lisa, no need to make tea, go get so rest early." He looked up at the smiling blonde maid.
Lisa nodded.
"Let’s go."
Lu Wanwan glanced towards the study again; Xie Liancheng had already walked to the door.
He looked calm, but his gaze was deep as he looked in this direction.
His black hair was streaked with silver threads, which revealed his age, unexpectedly making him look a bit weathered.
"Mr. Liancheng, you should rest early too." Lu Wanwan said softly, nodding in his direction.
She had just woken up and hadn’t had ti to think thoroughly, misunderstanding him.
After seeing them leave, Xie Liancheng was still standing by the door, his gaze seed to penetrate the void, but carried a hint of relief and a smile.
This was what he wanted to see, the person standing by Wanwan’s side.
This was her true love, soone she could entrust her life to.
As Xie Liancheng returned to his room, he made a call, "Help find out which lab has had contact with Xiao Ye’s people."

"What were you two discussing in the middle of the night?" Lu Wanwan was fully awake now, her eyes bright as she looked at him.
Gu Annan had ntioned giving Xie Liancheng one night to think if there were any clues related to her father.
Actually, that statent was quite suspicious.
Xie Liancheng either knew or didn’t know; it wasn’t sothing that could change just by reminiscing overnight.
Unless he already knew, but was considering whether or not to say sothing.
"Why?" Gu Annan raised an eyebrow, tightening his grip around her waist and pulling her closer to him, "Why aren’t you sleeping at this late hour?"
"I just woke up."
"You woke up at two in the middle of the night?" He was full of disbelief, "You’re usually such a deep sleeper; waking up in the middle of the night? Seems like things have been too quiet at night lately..."
Lu Wanwan: "..." That’s not what she ant.
"I just suddenly woke up and didn’t know where you sneaked off to. It’s suspicious for you to suddenly disappear in soone else’s house."
Her earnest explanation didn’t reach his ears at all.
She felt light as he lifted her up and placed her on the table, his strong arms framing her sides.
Her watery eyes lifted to et his gaze, and imdiately he lowered his head and kissed her.
The kisses fell gently yet intensely, entangling and making one’s heart flutter.
In no ti, her mind was filled only with his presence, her heart overwheld with a sweet tenderness.
"Is that enough?" A husky and rich voice murmured in her ear, and she squinted her eyes open slightly.
"What are you talking about..." Lu Wanwan blushed, knowing it wasn’t ant seriously.
"Getting up in the middle of the night to find , I have to satisfy you." He continued to kiss her smooth face gently.
After lingering closely for a while, he carried her back to the large bed.
"What were you discussing so late at night?" As soon as she lay down, Lu Wanwan couldn’t resist her curiosity any longer.
"We just talked about him and your mother, and the decision he regrets the most in his life." He held her hands in his large grasp, keeping her tightly in his arms, "It’s just things you already know."
Lu Wanwan pressed her forehead against his chest, her eyes wide open, "Actually, I wonder if there was so mistake with the paternity test?"
