Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Be Good (3) Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Be Good (3) “Ouch!!” She gasped for air as she backed away, her little face contorted in pain, glancing sidelong at the idler.
Dressed in his casual ho clothes, Gu Annan lacked his usual otherworldly, cold arrogance, but his presence was still too overpowering, a re glance commanding enough to silence anyone.
Particularly since she rembered it was her own hurried carelessness, and she had not expected him to follow her at that mont, so she spared herself any complaints.
“If you want to take a shower, I’ll leave the bathroom to you,” Lu Wanwan said as she prepared to leave with her clothes in hand. “If you’re not going to the company, then I’ll go out on my own.”
“Did I agree to let you go out?” Gu Annan stretched out an arm, pulled back the woman who was about to walk past him, and pinned her against the wall.
“I want to go see my grandmother,” she argued.
One hand was forcibly pressed against the wall by him, while the other imdiately ca up between them, trying to maintain so distance.
Visiting her grandmother was indeed the truth; on a rare day off, she couldn’t risk being bedridden the entire day.
“If you’re angry, I can apologize,” Lu Wanwan didn’t give him a chance to deny it and continued, “I know I was at fault yesterday. As your fiancée, if such an incident were to be exposed, it could bring negative repercussions to the Gu Family and to you personally. I can’t promise that I won’t encounter people with ill intentions in the future, but I will try not to go to places where danger is likely to happen again.”
Gu Annan looked down at her earnestly apologetic little face. “Is that what you’re worried about?”
“Gu Annan, you can’t put under house arrest here because of this.”
“This incident hasn’t caused you any other impact?” His deep eyes shone faintly as he continued to question her, his head lowered.
“Other impact?” Lu Wanwan was puzzled. “Like what?”
“Nothing.” A trace of sothing intriguing flashed in his eyes before he casually said, “What if I don’t accept your apology?”
Her brows knotted tightly. “If you don’t accept it, there’s nothing I can do. I am truly sorry. Do you think I would want sothing like this to happen?”
As she spoke the last sentence, her radiant little face suddenly lost its color.
“What’s past is past,” Gu Annan lifted her head to et her eyes, which held a trace of lingering fear, his voice clear and lodious. “It won’t happen again in the future.”
Lu Wanwan’s heartbeat sped up uncontrollably at his words, “It definitely won’t.”
With her heart fluttering, she hadn’t even fully understood the aning of Gu Annan’s words.
She took his assurance as a warning, a command not to let similar incidents happen again.
“So, are you not angry anymore?” She forced a strained smile, eting his enigmatic gaze.
“That depends,” Gu Annan let go of her hand and stuffed his own hands into his pockets.
“On what?”
He lifted his lips dismissively, “Be a little good, and that might be the end of it.”
“…”
She didn’t fully grasp how good he expected her to be, but felt that she had been quite obedient recently.
“You promised, so we’re clear, no more bringing this up in the future.”
Gu Annan pursed his lips impatiently, then glanced at the clothes still in her hand, “Stop rambling and throw what you’re holding away and go change.”
She felt suddenly liberated and assured him, “I’ll be back early!”
Gu Annan’s lips twitched slightly as he watched the woman leave the room hastily, her face full of gratitude.
She couldn’t possibly think that he had agreed to let her go out alone, could she?
