“French docunts.” Lu Wanwan responded listlessly, finding the docunt so dull that she was almost falling asleep.
Linda dared not say anything else; the editor-in-chief had indeed done the right thing by not sending her up here, as she had no understanding of French whatsoever.
Who would have thought that being a handyman for the BOSS also required knowledge of French?
Gu Annan handed the docunt back to her, “Not bad.”
Linda, delighted by the praise, tentatively asked, “Mr. Gu, I estimate we will be done in about an hour. Do you… have any plans tonight?”

Once she had finished translating the docunt, she checked the ti and it was already ten at night.
She was eager to leave, impatient to escape the man who intentionally tornted her.
“Mr. Gu, I’m leaving first,” Lu Wanwan said as she stood up. “Your ti is precious, and I won’t waste any more of it. Goodbye.”
Gu Annan’s eyes slightly narrowed, as she hadn’t waited for his consent before leaving.

The floor was already deserted, and even though the lights were still on, they emitted an eerily cold feeling, as if even the incandescent bulbs were cold gray.
She wasn’t wearing high heels, but in this silence, her footsteps still echoed clearly.
It’s fine. Lu Wanwan comforted herself, reminding herself she was not alone here; Gu Annan was still behind her!
She stood waiting by the elevator door, the nearby ergency staircase engulfing in darkness.
She forced her head to turn away, telling herself not to look.
“Zzzz”
Accompanied by a faint electrical noise, the hallway lights suddenly flickered twice.
Then went out.
The entire floor’s lights went out, plunging the surroundings into complete darkness in the blink of an eye.
She almost wanted to cry, her heart rapidly expanding with a sense of panic, each cell seeming to tremble lightly.
Even though she kept telling herself to be brave, the feeling of helplessness and fear took up all the space in her mind.
Gu Annan, she had to find Gu Annan!
Stumbling back the way she ca, she suddenly bumped into a body.
“Ahh—” With a sharp scream, her waist was instantly hooked by an arm.
“What are you screaming for.” Gu Annan had turned on his phone’s flashlight, the woman in his arms trembling down to her lips.
“Gu Annan, why did the lights suddenly go out,” her voice carried a hint of a sob.
“How should I know,” he held her arm tightly, feeling her cling nervously to him, “It could be a power failure, or possibly the managent thought the building was empty, so they cut off the power to this floor.”
“Then call and ask,” she suggested.
“To my knowledge, the night shift manager is an old man without a cell phone,” he spoke slowly in a low voice.
Suddenly, Lu Wanwan rembered sothing, “We need to hurry. If we don’t leave now, we won’t be able to.”
If the front door on the first floor was locked and the old janitor had gone to sleep, she and Gu Annan would be trapped and unable to leave.
