Chapter 286: Chapter 286: President Gu, Keeping Work and Personal Life Separate (6) Chapter 286: Chapter 286: President Gu, Keeping Work and Personal Life Separate (6) His voice wasn’t loud, but in the parking lot, it sounded particularly clear and magnetic.
His deep, ink-black eyes held a hint of intrigue as he looked at her.
“I’m not discussing this with you!” Lu Wanwan felt a bit overwheld by the questioning.
“Your attitude towards your work is a problem, and I haven’t had a thorough talk with you about it yet. Now you want to discuss sothing else with ?”
She had intended to confront him about why he was making things difficult for her, yet it seed as if the situation had turned around, putting her lack of commitnt to her work into question.
“Let’s get in the car and talk,” Gu Annan said as he opened the car door.
“I’m not getting in. I want to talk right here,” Lu Wanwan suddenly lifted her head, “Actually, I wanted to say…”
“President Gu!” A surprised voice called out from a distance, “Xiaolu?”
When Linda ca over and saw Lu Wanwan there, her expression turned a bit strange.
“Sister Linda, you haven’t left yet?”
Linda glanced at her, “Yes, I haven’t. What are you doing here? Aren’t you going back?”
“I…” Lu Wanwan glanced at Gu Annan, wondering if this was the right mont.
“I heard Bai Lingyun recently returned to Manchester, and you didn’t take the opportunity to have so fun over the weekend?” Linda smiled radiantly, casually putting an arm around her shoulder, “President Gu, you’d never guess, our intern is actually Bai Lingyun’s girlfriend.”
This rumor was difficult for Lu Wanwan to clarify clearly, so she didn’t bother with the teasing among colleagues, hoping things would eventually fade away.
But she had indeed clearly stated that she and Bai Lingyun were not in that kind of relationship.
“Is that so?” Gu Annan’s lips curled into a cold smirk, as his sharp gaze fell on her.
Lu Wanwan didn’t know if it was her imagination, but she imdiately felt a chill all over her body.
“It’s not…”
She hadn’t finished speaking when Linda’s louder voice overpowered hers, “Isn’t it? It was all over the headlines, that rumor was quite a sensation not long ago. But I guess President Gu doesn’t follow entertainnt news.”
Gu Annan, still with a cold smirk, pulled open the car door but didn’t get in.
“Of course not.”
“Too bad Bai Lingyun took on a new film and hasn’t been around. Xiaolu, he’s back, and you’re not going to see him?”
Lu Wanwan, looking at Linda’s smiling face, said word by word, “I’m not very close to him.”
“Oh,” Linda covered her mouth, laughing, “Yes yes, I understand, you’re not close. Don’t worry, I won’t go blabbing about it.”
“I’m not his girlfriend. Bai Lingyun is my forr fiancé’s cousin. Sister Linda, do you understand now?”
Hearing the words ‘forr fiancé,’ Gu Annan’s face seed to turn even colder.
“Are you done talking? If so, get in the car,” he said curtly, his thin lips slightly parting, “Don’t waste ti.”
Linda, startled, asked, “President Gu, you and Xiaolu… you, you are going together?”
“She asked for a ride, and I agreed,” he glanced at Lu Wanwan, “Right?”
The thought that if she said no, Linda might request the sa favor crossed her mind.
Without much thought, she said, “Yes. Thank you, President Gu. I will definitely work harder tomorrow!”
Linda’s smile stiffened for a mont, her tone mournful, “President Gu, could you possibly give a ride too?”
Gu Annan gave her a look as if she were a fool, “Sorry, the car has only two seats.”
He was driving a sports car with only one passenger seat, which was obvious. However, Linda had forgotten this in her haste.
“Xiaolu is really lucky, then… then you go ahead,” Linda forced a laugh, her face unable to hide her embarrassnt.
Lu Wanwan said goodbye to her with particular enthusiasm, taking the passenger seat.
“Sister Linda, see you tomorrow.”
