He glanced at her coldly, “I have a car, you can wait by yourself.”

Watching his retreating back, she felt an unreasonable sense of suffocation in her heart.
Forget it, forget it, forget it; it’s not worth begging him over such a trifle.
“Wanwan.” A male colleague’s voice ca from behind, “Didn’t bring an umbrella?”
“Yeah, Xiaozhang,” she said pitifully, shrinking in the wind, “Who knew it would suddenly start raining.”
Xiaozhang strode quickly to the door, took out a large umbrella, opened it, and said cheerfully, “Co on, I’ll give you a ride.”

He looked at Lu Wanwan standing under the umbrella, and said coldly, “The project plan you arranged yesterday hasn’t been turned in, has it?”
Xiaozhang nodded and promised, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely submit it tomorrow; it won’t be late.”
“Submit it today,” Gu Annan said indifferently. “This one is a bit urgent; please rush it today.”

“Go back and work overti.”

He sped up a bit and, out of the corner of his eye, saw her huddled to the side; he turned on the heater.
Lu Wanwan didn’t talk any further, feeling a bit more comfortable as she ward up with the air blowing on her.
Actually, he didn’t need to get wet at all; with so many colleagues around, any one of them who knew he didn’t have an umbrella would have been falling over themselves to offer him one.
The car drove directly into the residential complex where Lu Wanwan rented her apartnt. The rain had co quickly and left swiftly; within monts, it had stopped.
“How did you know I live in this building?” Lu Wanwan widened her eyes and looked at him.
