Lu Wanwan could only force a wry smile, “It’s a long story… give a mont, Master. I’ll look it up on Baidu and tell you.”
The driver nodded, still looking at the man, and muttered, “He’s still got blood on him, and there’s a hospital right next door. Why did they have to carry him out? It must’ve been tough on you, a young lady like you having to take him out.”
Lu Wanwan checked on Baidu Maps and, sure enough, found a Song Clinic, though it was quite a distance away.
She handed her phone to the driver, “Master, could you take a look, do you know this place?”
“Oh, that place, near Chen’s pig knuckles. Got it.” The driver nodded and started the car.
During the drive, the driver asked several tis who the man was to her and how he ended up in this state, to which Lu Wanwan knew nothing.
“I’m just helping out, I really don’t know him,” she said helplessly, “but if I hadn’t been distracted and accidentally bumped into him, he probably wouldn’t have ended up like this.”
The driver praised her a few tis and finally advised her to still be cautious.
After driving for over half an hour, they arrived at the Song Clinic that the mysterious man had ntioned.
The clinic was a standalone small building, a short walk from the roadside.
Thanks to the help of the driver, they managed to get the man inside.
Lu Wanwan paid the fare and entered the clinic again.
There weren’t many people inside the clinic, which made it seem desolate.
The few doctors who ca out looked perplexed, as the man was on the hospital bed but there seed to be no imdiate intention to save him.
“Does no one recognize him, or is there no one here waiting for him?” Lu Wanwan didn’t want to just leave him there, “He asked to be brought to this clinic. I assud he had friends here.”
One of the nurses said, “Wait a mont, I’ll make a phone call.”
A male doctor opened his coat, revealing a white shirt stained with blood at the right chest with a hole in the middle.
“He’s been shot,” the doctor muttered.
Lu Wanwan, looking at this person, increasingly felt that there was more than t the eye and began to think about backing out.
As a passerby, bringing him here was already more than could be asked of her.
Gunshots and the like were not sothing she wanted to get involved in.
“Well, I’ve brought the person here. If there are any fees to be paid…”
Suddenly, the doctor removed the man’s sunglasses.
Without the sunglasses, his face lost so of its previous severity and gained a bit of handsoness.
His concealed eyes were unconsciously closed, eyelashes long and curled, making the nurse beside him envious.
“Quite a pretty boy, eh?” joked the nurse.
Lu Wanwan, who was about to leave, stopped mid-sentence.
The man seed sowhat familiar.
Even with his eyes closed, the contours of his face closely resembled soone she knew.
“Hey, don’t you guys think he looks familiar?”
“You find every handso guy familiar.”
“No, seriously, doesn’t he look like… Bai Lingyun?”
Yes, Bai Lingyun.
This man’s features were very much like Bai Lingyun’s, and as she realized this, she halted mid-sentence, along with her plans to leave imdiately.
Bai Lingyun was considered her friend. He had given her shelter for a night and helped her out when she had no money. Moreover, during the Xu Yuan incident, Bai Lingyun had helped without hesitation.
