Chapter 493: Chapter 493: Didn’t Expect You to Be This Kind of Cousin (5)
Bai Youchen awkwardly cleared his throat, took a deep breath, and tried to calm himself.
Despite the red still on his handso face, he had no choice but to return to the bed and take the key over to her.
With his back to Lu Wanwan, he glared at Song Ning with what seed to be a blaming gaze, then proceeded to unlock her handcuffs.
Yet, unexpectedly, Song Ning remained indifferent from beginning to end, not the least bit interested in joking around.
With a click, the handcuffs were off.
Song Ning quickly withdrew her wrists and stood by the bed.
Lu Wanwan was clueless until she ca over carrying the insulated bag.
She had always known Doctor Song still harbored feelings for him, and it seed Cousin hadn’t managed to resist.
Their passion was electric, igniting at the slightest touch.
Fortunately, Gu Annan didn’t have any hobbies involving handcuffs and candles.
“Cough, what we… it’s not what you think,” Bai Youchen, noticing the misunderstanding from her expression, felt a need to clarify.
Upon hearing his explanation to Lu Wanwan, Song Ning was slightly surprised but didn’t show it.
“What do I think?” Lu Wanwan placed the nutritious soup she bought on the bedside table next to her, feigning ignorance.
Bai Youchen was at a loss for words and could only lie back and stare at the ceiling.
“I see your injury hasn’t improved much these past days, and I don’t have ti to make anything myself, so I bought this from outside. This soup is very famous, I had to queue up for a while, hence my late arrival.”
As she said this, she was looking at Song Ning.
Bai Youchen replied with a sowhat cold and indifferent voice, “You asked her to co?”
Without hesitation, Song Ning answered, “Yes, I asked her to co.”
“No, I called Doctor Song myself and got the address,” Lu Wanwan clarified.
It was indeed a bit strange that Doctor Song had left the room key outside, allowing her to let herself in upon arrival.
“Thank you,” Bai Youchen’s expression softened as he watched Lu Wanwan pour the soup, “It slls delicious.”
“Hurry up while it’s hot. Doctor Song, could you lend a hand? He doesn’t seem to have the strength to eat by himself,” Lu Wanwan said as she took the soup out of the box and poured it into a bowl.
“I’m fine, I can do it myself,” Bai Youchen managed to sit up, supporting himself, his forehead beaded with cold sweat.
“Do you have ti to eat?” Song Ning said sarcastically.
Lu Wanwan noticed the tone of her voice and felt that the atmosphere was off.
Glancing down, she saw the pulled-out needle still dripping, with half its contents remaining in the IV bag.
Surely their passion didn’t go that far.
Looking at Song Ning again, Lu Wanwan could tell from her expression that Bai Youchen had handcuffed her in an attempt to escape.
It was mostly Bai Youchen’s initial blushing that led her to think otherwise.
“Thank you,” Bai Youchen took the bowl of soup and looked up at her again, “What’s wrong?”
Lu Wanwan’s expression had also slightly changed.
He sensed the implication and pondered for a mont, “You think just the two of you can stop ?”
“Drink the soup while it’s hot,” Lu Wanwan urged, feeling the situation was getting tense, “I’m not trying to hold you back, really.”
Doctor Song hadn’t intended to keep him from leaving, which must be why she had asked her to take him to the airport.
It was already kind of her to go this far, pretending as though she was letting him escape.
Lu Wanwan suddenly felt sad for Doctor Song.
“If you want to leave, it would be very easy,” Song Ning said in a cool, detached tone, “You say the two of us can’t stop you, so prove it. If you can escape from us, I promise I won’t bring you back.”
Bai Youchen held the soup bowl, took a few sips, and remained silent.
Song Ning scoffed coldly and headed for the door without turning back, “If you can’t manage it, save your breath.”
