“How do you feel now?” Bai Lingyun could never be certain how she fainted, so he didn’t get too close to her.
“I don’t know.” She sat up in bed.
Her mind was foggy; she couldn’t quite rember what had happened.
“Try to think, what’s the last thing you rember?”
“I was going upstairs, talking to you on the phone as I climbed… right, I saw those people who chased after Bai Youchen last ti.” She held her head in her hands, thought for a long ti, and finally looked up, “But I don’t rember what happened after I went upstairs.”
Bai Lingyun nodded, “It’s okay, nothing happened afterward. Are you feeling alright now?”
Lu Wanwan felt weak all over and just shook her head, “I have no energy, it feels like I’ve been sleeping for a very long ti. Where is Bai Youchen? And those two people, were they found?”
“Wanwan, you might have made a mistake.” He sat down by the bed, “Bai Youchen wasn’t here at all; he’s still with Song Ning. Do you recall them ntioning anything related to Bai Youchen?”
“They didn’t ntion nas.” She leaned against the bed, thinking hard, and finally sighed, “Maybe I was mistaken. When I saw those two and heard what they were saying, I assud they were looking for Bai Youchen. But are you sure he hasn’t left Song Ning’s place?”
“Yes, I’m certain; I’ve already called Song Ning.” Bai Lingyun sighed in relief and offered a comforting smile, “Maybe they were after that person but just followed the wrong lead. If you’re okay, rest for a while, and once Song Ning confirms you’re fine, we’ll leave here.”
Lu Wanwan glanced outside at the darkening sky, “What ti is it now?”
“Just past nine.” Bai Lingyun gave her a look, “Didn’t you let Mr. Gu know?”
Lu Wanwan found her phone and sent a text ssage while speaking, “I had dinner plans with Xu Yuan tonight, but I should be getting back by now.”
“Can you walk now?”
“Of course not.”
She typed a ssage saying she was with Wen Qiao and would return later.
“Right now, I probably can’t walk very far.”
After sending the text, she was relieved that Ji Shaoyang was away on a business trip.
If her body recovered too slowly, she might need Wen Qiao’s help.
