"But, I wasn’t in charge of this project."
She had joined the team that collaborated with the Gu Corporation earlier, her superiors had ntioned that it was rely for her to gain experience.
Not only was she not the leader, she hadn’t even participated in much of the essential work.
"Whom should I et with these plans?"
Her colleague, simply conveying the instructions from above, was also unclear about this request, "I’m not sure, it’s probably just to re-discuss so details. The main thing is that the client has already arrived; it shouldn’t take too long. I’m off to grab so lunch, do you want to get sothing for you?"
"No thanks, I’m not very hungry." Lu Wanwan pressed her temples.
She really didn’t feel hungry, only a bit dizzy from lack of sleep.
As a newcor transferred to this team, it wasn’t too strange to have an increased workload. She went to the restroom to wash her face, noticing the severe dark circles under her eyes in the mirror.
When she ca out of the restroom, she still looked listless.
"Didn’t sleep well?" A puzzled and lazy voice ca from behind her.
Lu Wanwan turned around, finding Bai Lingyun walking towards her in a breezy casual outfit.
"Is it that obvious?" she stopped, rubbing her face with her hands.
Bai Lingyun, with his hands in his pockets, lazily nodded, "Like a panda, and you also look like you could fall asleep any mont."
Lu Wanwan sighed deeply, ntally cursing the man who had caused her insomnia again.
"Why are you here?" Lu Wanwan rubbed her eyes, asking casually.
MG was Bai Lingyun’s managent agency, but he seldom visited.
Lately, however, he had been seen in the office several tis.
"I’m eting Jiu Rong, we’re going to play basketball this afternoon." His lips curled up into a smile, his eyes slightly squinting, "I heard you were free this afternoon and thought about asking you to join."
Lu Wanwan shook her head with an annoyed expression, "I was supposed to be free this afternoon, but suddenly I have to discuss planning details with the client."
He chuckled softly, "Seeing how sleepy you are, I know you have the ti but not the energy."
"Even if I had both ti and energy, I wouldn’t go ..." She rolled her eyes silently.
The absurd demands of that person were still making her wary.
She couldn’t appear in any public setting with Bai Lingyun!
Fortunately, this was MG, and once outside the door, she wouldn’t dare co within ten ters of him.
"Because of the rumors?" Bai Lingyun didn’t care much, walking with her towards the elevator.
Lu Wanwan didn’t want to directly ntion Gu Annan’s inhumane demands, so she casually made a joke, "It’s nothing, just being cautious."
"No worry, there likely won’t be any more paparazzi soon. The paparazzo ..." he slightly pursed his lips, "I gave them a small punishnt."
"You know who it was?" she turned her head in shock.
"Yeah. I was careless before, but lately, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the dia, preventing any random publications about ."
"Anyway, better safe than sorry," Lu Wanwan said cautiously just as the elevator arrived, and she bid him goodbye.
Bai Lingyun watched the elevator doors close, a bitter smile of helplessness hanging on his lips as he shook his head and then proceeded to the elevator that led directly to the CEO’s office.

Lu Wanwan, holding a stack of docunts, hurried into the reception room.
"Sorry I’m late, I was just..." she had just closed the door, seeing the man beside the conference table, when she suddenly stopped.
"No problem, I haven’t been waiting long," said Gu Annan, sitting in a black leather chair, his legs crossed.
At the sound, he turned his chair around, his deep black eyes staring at her.
