When Lu Wanwan reached the rooftop door, two n dressed in bomb disposal suits, ard with guns, stood motionless, their expressions stern.
What kind of place was this? Were these soldiers?
Could one not co and go freely here?
Lu Wanwan hesitated for a mont; as she continued walking forward, the two motionless n suddenly blocked her path with their arms.
“Let her pass.” Gu Annan strolled over, moved his lips slightly, and the two n imdiately retracted their arms with uniform movents.
Indeed, it wasn’t a place one could freely enter or leave.
“Let’s go.”
Hearing his voice, Lu Wanwan turned around, still puzzled in her heart.
The sky had darkened; his sharply angled face in the dim light had even more distinct lines.
His deep black eyes looked over with a playful smile, slightly squinting, “Don’t want to leave? Want to fly around in the sky a bit more? Though you seed quite scared.”
“When did I say I was scared.”
“Weren’t you so scared you couldn’t even make a sound?”
Lu Wanwan fell silent; she had been rendered speechless by his teasing.
Plus, her life safety was entirely in his hands, so she didn’t dare to provoke him and simply pretended she hadn’t heard.
“What is this place?” she asked as she ca out of the rooftop passage, looking around.
Everywhere she looked, there were clean grey-white walls and n in black bomb disposal suits.
The entire floor was so quiet there wasn’t a sound.
It didn’t seem like a temporary stop.
“My place,” he said with his hands in his pockets, strolling out from behind, “Xigang’s branch office.”
The elevator doors opened, and Gu Annan followed her inside.
He pressed for the first floor directly.
“I can go to the city center by myself, you don’t need to drop off,” she said as she noticed the lit button didn’t indicate any other floors. “You go ahead with whatever you need to do.”
“Did I say I was busy?” Gu Annan’s lips curved slightly, seemingly in a good mood, he enunciated each word clearly, “I’ve been quite free recently. And when I say I’ll take responsibility, I an all the way to the end.”
Lu Wanwan internally ranted, wondering why he emphasized the words “take responsibility.”
Her mind flashed back to when she had hurriedly told him that if she was late, he would have to take responsibility, and Gu Annan’s response was that he had to take responsibility for everything concerning her.
“Are you also going to the film festival?”
“If you’re going, I’ll go; if not, we can go sowhere else.” His voice was lazy, indifferent to their destination, as long as she was with him, it was fine.
