He pushed her away. "Catherine Callahan, you’ve pushed my boundaries until there’s nothing left. Don’t show your face in front of again. Don’t use the fact that I once loved you as an excuse to act so wantonly. That’s not what a smart woman would do."
She put her clothes on. "But, Quentin, I left you back then because I loved you. I was thinking of you. Why... why don’t you love anymore now that I’m back? Quentin, have you ever thought about how happy we would have been if we’d gotten together last year?"
"I don’t waste ti thinking about impossible hypotheticals. You and I are impossible, now and forever. Stop doing these pointless things that just disgust . It’s completely useless."
With that, he turned and went upstairs.
Catherine Callahan stood at the door, staring at the top of the stairs, feeling utterly miserable.
’In the end, I still couldn’t have him.’
’In front of a man who didn’t love her, she was nothing but a buffoon, acting out a story she thought was a masterpiece.’
After returning from the hospital, Nora Ainsworth was forcibly confined to her bed by Leon Lynch to recuperate.
"I have an indoor scene to shoot tonight." She had just tried to sit up when Leon Lynch pushed her back down onto the bed.
"Are you trying to get to kiss you again?"
Staring at the face just inches away, Nora Ainsworth was completely exasperated. "What does that have to do with kissing ?"
"It does. Because if you don’t listen to , I’ll kiss you."
"Is this your special Lynch-brand twisted logic?"
"Correct!"
"..."
Unable to win the argunt, Nora Ainsworth had no choice but to lie back down for the ti being.
But after a little while, she felt a familiar sensation down below. ’Oh no,’ she thought. ’My period started.’
Nora Ainsworth’s body suddenly went rigid. She slowly sat up, trying to get out of bed again, but was once again blocked.
"Be good. Lie down."
How could Nora Ainsworth possibly lie still at a ti like this? She felt like cursing Leon Lynch and his entire family tree.
"I’m going to the bathroom."
Leon Lynch rubbed his nose. "Alright, go ahead."
Nora Ainsworth went into the bathroom, and a look after pulling down her pants confird it. Her period had really started. She used so toilet paper as a temporary asure, but it would only hold for a short while. She had been trying to regulate her cycle for the past few months, but it had clearly only improved slightly. Her flow was still very heavy each ti.
’I have to go downstairs to the supermarket to buy pads now.’
Coming out of the bathroom, she looked at him and said, "I’m going to the supermarket to buy sothing. I’ll be right back."
"What do you need to buy? I’ll get it for you," he volunteered.
Of course, Nora Ainsworth wasn’t going to let him buy *that* for her. She could only say, "This is sothing I have to buy myself. It’s not like I’m so seriously injured I can’t even walk."
Leon Lynch grabbed her arm. "What do you need? I’ll go buy it. You stay in bed."
Nora Ainsworth lost her temper. "I need to buy pads! Sanitary pads! Dammit! You wanna go buy them?"
Leon Lynch’s face actually flushed slightly. "I can buy them."
"Even if you wanted to, I wouldn’t dare use them! I’ll go myself."
"Then I’ll go with you."
Nora Ainsworth was thoroughly exasperated. ’Is he a piece of superglue or sothing?’
She gave up and let him follow.
They left the hotel and walked into the supermarket together.
After grabbing two packs of pads, Nora Ainsworth thought for a mont and then also picked up a small pack of diapers.
They took the items to the checkout counter to pay, and the scene was once again captured by paparazzi.
When the two of them got back upstairs, Zeke Marshall ca running from the elevators. "Nora, you’re in the news again."
Nora Ainsworth was already used to it. "So what if I am?"
"But this ti, the headline is... well, just take a look." Zeke Marshall handed her his phone.
The mont she saw the headline, Nora Ainsworth’s composure vanished.
It read: *Nora Ainsworth Suspected of Having a Child with Leon Lynch, Photographed Buying Diapers at Supermarket!*
The article’s content was even more absurd.
It directly suggested that Nora Ainsworth might have a secret love child, and that she bought the pads as a makeshift diaper for the baby, not daring to buy actual diapers openly.
"What is this nonsense? If I were buying diapers for a baby, would I really need to co and buy them myself?"
Leon Lynch took the phone, glanced at it, and actually smiled.
"This is great news! Looks like I’m going to be a father!"
His words were overheard by a nearby reporter.
Imdiately after, another explosive story hit the headlines: *Leon Lynch Personally Confirms He’s Going to Be a Dad!*
As Leon Lynch handed the phone back to Zeke Marshall, Zeke was about to close the news feed when he spotted the latest breaking headline. It hadn’t even been two minutes!
"Nora! Look at this!"
Nora Ainsworth didn’t know what to expect, but one look was enough to give her a shock. After reading it, she tossed the phone at Leon Lynch. "You take a good long look! What the hell is this?"
Leon Lynch was stunned too. "When did I say I had a baby? Wait... just now?"
Nora Ainsworth was about to go crazy with anger. "You’re going to be the death of !"
Leon Lynch, on the other hand, was secretly delighted. "Nora, don’t you think that if we had a child, they would be absolutely beautiful?"
Nora Ainsworth was about to retort when she glanced to the side and saw a reporter deliberately walking beside them. "This reporter’s acting skills are amazing. He could probably win an Oscar for Best Actor, don’t you think?"
The reporter, having been spotted, quickly scurried away.
"Leon Lynch, now there’s really no way to explain our way out of this."
The three of them got into the elevator and went upstairs. When they checked the news again, it had already evolved to: *Leon Lynch Fantasizes About Child’s Looks. Will the Couple Have a Shotgun Wedding?*
The news spread like wildfire. When Ethan Ellsworth and Chloe Marshall saw the articles, they imdiately gathered in Nora Ainsworth’s room.
After she explained everything, the two of them breathed a sigh of relief.
"Nora, when I saw that, my heart nearly leaped out of my chest." Chloe had thought it was real. ’If only it were true,’ she thought. ’That would be so wonderful.’
Ethan Ellsworth chuckled lowly. "If it were true, I imagine Alveria would be covered in a layer of dust."
"What do you an by that?" Leon Lynch asked, looking at him with a aningful gaze.
Ethan Ellsworth just smiled without another word and headed for the door. Chloe Marshall hurriedly chased after him.
"Boss Ellsworth, what did you an just now?"
"Did I say sothing?" Ethan Ellsworth was noncommittal, refusing to admit anything.
"You clearly ant that Young Master Grant is still in love with Nora, right?"
"Did I ntion Young Master Grant?"
"But that’s what you ant," Chloe Marshall said, jogging to keep up.
"Idiot. Are you a mind reader or sothing?"
"Can I be?"
Ethan Ellsworth stopped in his tracks. "What?"
"Can I be your mind reader?"
Ethan Ellsworth’s face darkened. He was suddenly convinced this silly girl really was an idiot.
"Boss Ellsworth, there’s sothing I want to ask you."
"What is it?" Ethan Ellsworth took out his key, unlocked his door, and went inside.
"Boss Ellsworth, about your agreent with Miss Grant—"
Her voice trailed off, and she didn’t dare to look at him.
Afraid he would get angry again, Chloe Marshall quickly added, "Boss Ellsworth, just pretend I didn’t say anything."
But to her surprise, he gave an unprecedented answer. "The agreent was canceled a long ti ago."
Chloe Marshall’s head snapped up, and she almost danced with joy. "That’s great!"
"What’s so great about it?"
Chloe Marshall smiled. "Boss Ellsworth, are you available to be pursued?"
