Sharon Ainsworth’s expression suddenly changed. "How did you know that detail? Did Leon Lynch tell you?"

"How I found out isn’t important. What matters is that you’re dood to lose this confrontation today. Even if all the evidence points to him, I won’t believe it. Because between his character and yours, you are without a doubt the more despicable one. That alone tells everything I need to know about the credibility of this situation."

Sharon Ainsworth trembled with anger. "Nora Ainsworth, you’re more than just bad luck—you’re the curse of my marital prospects! Since you already know, I’ll just say it outright. Even if you tell everyone, who do you think is going to believe you? Everyone knows what kind of person you are. No one will believe you. But ? I’m different. The image I’ve always projected to the public is one of a gentle, beautiful, noble, and elegant woman. We’ll just wait and see! Leon Lynch will eventually cave under the pressure and marry !"

She stood up, pulled the door open, and strode out in her high heels.

Nora Ainsworth took out her phone and saved the recording.

’She had been right to trust Leon Lynch.’

This whole thing was orchestrated by Sharon Ainsworth. If she hadn’t intervened, Leon Lynch could have had ten thousand mouths and still not been able to clear his na.

After all, most people currently believed the poor, pitiful act Sharon Ainsworth was putting on.

Nora Ainsworth slowly walked out. She deleted all the call logs and text ssages from the phone, removed the SIM card, and then sent it by courier to Leon Lynch at his hotel.

Afterward, she headed back to the hospital. As she neared her room, she was startled by the person standing at the door.

With a frown, Quentin Grant swept her up by the waist and carried her back into the room.

He covered her with the blanket. When he saw the faint traces of blood on her leg, he wanted to wring her neck. ’Has she gone mad?!’

"Where have you been?"

Seeing her in street clothes, he knew she must have left the hospital.

"I had to go out and take care of sothing," Nora Ainsworth answered evenly.

"What could possibly be more important than your leg?" Quentin Grant huffed. "Don’t tell you snuck off to et so man?"

Nora Ainsworth tilted her head up. "Could you try thinking sothing good about for a change? And look who’s talking! Who’s the one who’s been sneaking off to et a woman these past few days?"

Quentin Grant looked surprised. "You’re having followed?"

At his words, Nora Ainsworth decided she might as well lay it all out on the table.

"Soone saw you and told . Not that I have any say in it. A powerful man like President Grant can see or even live with any woman he wants."

"Good. I’m glad you know your place," he said, nodding with satisfaction.

Nora Ainsworth’s expression turned cold. "I can’t be with you right now. So, until I’m fully recovered, perhaps it’s best if you don’t visit, President Grant."

"Nora Ainsworth, you’ve gotten awfully bold. You dare to kick out now!"

Nora Ainsworth gave him a faint smile. "No, President Grant. I’m just thinking of you. I’m so charming, after all. Having you here staring at would not only be a waste of your ti, but I’m afraid you wouldn’t be able to control yourself. Wouldn’t you agree? I’m truly looking out for you."

Quentin Grant grunted. "Very good. You make it sound so noble. It seems a few days apart have made your tongue sharper, haven’t they?"

He suddenly leaned in close, looking down at her with a roguish smirk.

His gaze made her skin crawl, as if she were prey being stalked by a hunter.

"No, absolutely not, definitely not." Nora Ainsworth’s eyes darted, and she broke into a shaless grin. "President Grant, how about this? You’re a busy man. Why don’t you head back first? I’ll focus on recovering here in the hospital. Once I’m all better, if you still need , I’ll be at your imdiate service."

He straightened up. "Of course you’ll be at my service. As we agreed, after you pass the assessnt, you’re going to work for . Don’t worry, I’ll pay you. How does twenty thousand a month sound?"

Nora Ainsworth imdiately nodded like a sycophant. "That sounds great!"

"Plus, since the four of you tied for first place, the one-million-dollar prize money will be split between you. You’ll get a decent sum."

Nora Ainsworth bead. "Of course, that’s great. Money is a wonderful thing. Anyone who says they don’t need money must be worth tens of billions."

"What do you want for dinner? I’ll have soone bring it over."

"You won’t let eat what I want anyway, so why bother asking?"

Quentin Grant lifted his wrist to check his watch, his expression unreadable. "I’ll bring you sothing when I get off work this afternoon."

Before she could answer, he pulled the door open and left.

Nora Ainsworth pouted. ’Couldn’t he at least say goodbye before leaving? So rude!’

She turned on the TV to watch the live broadcast of the press conference.

It was just beginning. It had been scheduled for two o’clock, but it was already two-thirty. Leon Lynch was dressed in a full suit, yet despite the sweltering weather, he didn’t seem to feel the heat at all.

Dozens of caras were aid at him, shutters clicking incessantly.

With a wave of his hand, he announced, "Let the press conference begin!"

A female reporter imdiately posed a question. "Young Master Lynch, you’ve never held a press conference to address rumors before. Are you taking the initiative this ti because this has affected your daily life, or is it because you feel deeply guilty toward Miss Ainsworth and want to avoid becoming infamous?"

Leon Lynch smiled calmly. "It’s the forr, of course. This incident has severely impacted my life and done great damage to my reputation. It has also seriously affected how my future partner might see . Therefore, I have to co forward and explain things publicly to avoid any unnecessary trouble."

The reporter followed up, "And what proof do you have, Young Master Lynch, that you and Miss Ainsworth are innocent?"

"For that, Miss Ainsworth will have to attend this press conference in person. I wish to confront her directly."

"Don’t you think this will only hurt Miss Ainsworth more, Young Master Lynch?" the reporter retorted. "The dia is very concerned with the truth of this matter, and we hope the police will release the results of their investigation as well."

"Everyone already believes her based on a one-sided story. If I don’t do this, won’t I be left completely on the defensive? But don’t be hasty. The police will be sending soone here in person as well."

His words caused the reporters to exchange confused glances.

Just then, Sharon Ainsworth made her grand, tearful entrance, her eyes visibly swollen as if she’d been crying.

She had actually arrived much earlier; she was rely waiting for the right mont to appear.

"Miss Ainsworth, did you hear what Young Master Lynch just said?"

"Miss Ainsworth, how do you explain this?"

"Miss Ainsworth—"

Tears welled in Sharon Ainsworth’s eyes. "Thank you all for coming to this press conference. I felt that if I didn’t show up, it would only raise more suspicion. The main reason I’m here is—" She choked on a sob, a mont the dia’s caras instantly captured.

"The main reason I’m here is because I refuse to suffer this injustice in silence. The security footage already says it all, but I still felt I had to face the dia myself," Sharon Ainsworth said, her eyes glistening with tears.

The female reporters present were visibly moved, and the looks they cast at Leon Lynch turned decidedly colder.

"Since Miss Ainsworth is playing the victim, I’d also like to ask her: what were you doing in the VIP area of ’Lips on Fire’? We also have security footage showing that before any of this, you entered Room 306. That room was booked by my cousin, Quincy, and you were in there for over half an hour. Why don’t you explain to everyone what you were doing?"
