While cursing inwardly through gritted teeth, Sophie pulled out her bank card from her wallet. That sly fox, having another woman drink coffee at her expense!
After swiping the card, Sophie walked out of the coffee shop and called Nicholas Croft on her phone.
"Where are you, Uncle?"
Nicholas’s amused voice ca through the earpiece, "Shouldn’t you know that I’m heading back to the company now?"
"Were you on a date just now?" Sophie asked gloomily, holding her phone. This ti Nicholas’s laughter ca directly through, "You heard it all clearly, didn’t you?"

Feeling a little congested in her chest, she pouted. Uncle Nicholas had co on a date behind her back, and with that woman too. "Why are you going on dates and lying to Lara about discussing business?" she asked sullenly.
"You must have heard everything, little one. Uncle was also tricked into coming, and as soon as that woman arrived, didn’t I leave imdiately?" Nicholas explained with a smile, but Sophie couldn’t get over him leaving with Hannah.
"But you still left together, and that woman even hooked her arm around yours!"

"Hmph, liar!" Before Nicholas could finish, Sophie angrily hung up the phone, looked around the street, and hailed a taxi back to her rented apartnt.
Uncle Nicholas lied to her, so she didn’t want to return to his place.
There was a news conference scheduled for tomorrow, and Nicholas was busy with work until late. He only returned ho after having dinner with his team.
As he opened the villa door, Auntie Wang, who was watching TV on the sofa, greeted him politely and then curiously asked, "Sir, where’s Miss Lara? Why didn’t she co back with you?"
"Isn’t Lara ho?" Nicholas changed into slippers as Auntie Wang took his suit jacket from his arm and hung it on the coat stand, "Miss Lara hasn’t been back since she left with you. I thought she was with you."
"Oh, I see, you go ahead and watch your TV." Nicholas started up the stairs, knowing full well that the little one was mad at him. Once back in his room, he threw his tie onto the sofa and called Sophie Foster from the window.
anwhile, in her apartnt, Sophie was half-asleep on her small bed, snoring softly with her little mouth open.
She was still wearing her pink sportswear, holding her phone, thinking Nicholas would call her since she had run away from ho. She played gas out of boredom while waiting for his call. Having waited so long without the phone ringing, she unintentionally fell asleep.
The phone gripped in her palm rang just once before automatically shutting off.
On the other end of the line, hearing the automated lady’s voice, Nicholas sighed helplessly, the little one was really angry with him, even turning off her phone.
Glancing at the ti, it was nearly 1 AM, not wanting to fuss anymore, he returned to the sofa, placed his phone on the coffee table, and walked purposefully into the bathroom.
In the morning, as soon as Sophie woke up, the first thing she did was check her phone, which died, prompting her to jump out of bed to grab a power bank. After turning it on, Sophie found no missed calls from Nicholas and tossed the phone on the bed, gloomily leaning against the bedside.
