With Beatrice Hargrave’s return, Josephine Hawthorne and her daughter also entered the kitchen to help out, arranging the dishes on the table and calling everyone to eat.
Nicholas Croft originally didn’t plan to stay for dinner at the Hargrave Family, yet even knowing Beatrice wasn’t his little Sophie, he still wanted to have a few more glances.
At the dining table, Hannah Hargrave played the role of the considerate sister perfectly, thoughtfully serving Beatrice food, and occasionally reminding her to eat more.
After the al, a few people sat chatting in the sofa area while Beatrice clung to her father’s arm, staying in the living room. Josephine personally brewed tea while listening to the adults talk about trivial matters. Beatrice stifled a yawn with her hand and rested her head on her father’s shoulder, soon falling asleep.
Seeing Beatrice asleep on her father’s shoulder, Nicholas Croft stood up, buttoned his suit, and politely said, "Mr. Hargrave, Madam, I’ll be heading off now, didn’t an to intrude."
"Nicholas, let see you out." Hannah hurriedly stood up to escort Nicholas out of the villa.
anwhile, in the hall, seeing the "guest" leaving the house, Beatrice imdiately roused from Henry Hargrave’s shoulder, her little face now icy cold, a stark contrast to her previous pure deanor. She got up from the sofa and said, "Alright, the guest is gone, we don’t need to act anymore. Where will I be staying? I’m tired and want to sleep."
"Humph! No manners!" Josephine crossed her arms and sneered coldly, her lips curled in disdain unhidden across her brow. If it weren’t for the fear of her husband having an illegitimate child exposed in the dia, she wouldn’t have agreed to let the wretch’s daughter into her ho.
"Oh," with a sigh, Beatrice leaned over, bringing her little face close to Josephine, and cynically retorted, "Of course I have no manners. Do you expect a child with no father and mother to be as polite as soone with high education?"
"Ha, at least you understand yourself!" Josephine sneered again, the disdain on her lips even more apparent.
"Ugh, it’s not my fault if you talk about this," Beatrice straightened up, wandering around the living room leisurely, "If your man hadn’t seduced my mom, I wouldn’t be here as a product,"
"Beatrice, how can you speak like that?" Henry Hargrave reprimanded unhappily. Beatrice suddenly turned to him, blinking, looking quite innocent, "What, did I say anything wrong? Wasn’t it you who used your position to get my mom drunk and trick her into bed?"
Bringing up those past events, Henry Hargrave felt a bit ashad, especially in front of his wife. When he tricked Beatrice’s mother into bed, he was already married, already the company’s Deputy Director, and the future successor. Beatrice’s mother was a new artist signed by the company, holding much promise at the ti.
Her looks were exceptionally striking, and Beatrice fully inherited her mother’s genes.
In order to win over Beatrice’s mother, at a party, Henry Hargrave used his position to get her drunk and then took her straight to the hotel...
"Little girl, stop flattering yourself!" Josephine crossed her arms again, sneering disdainfully, "If it weren’t for your whore of a mother seducing Grayson, would he have fallen for her?"
"Tsk tsk," Beatrice exaggeratedly clicked her tongue, inserting her hands into her denim jacket’s pockets, looking at Josephine and responded unceremoniously, "Are you really shaless enough to say that?
