Beatrice Hargrave hung up the phone and turned around just as Nicholas Croft spoke, looking at her and calmly asking, "What’s the matter?"
"Uncle, Dad... wants to go ho," Beatrice pressed her lips together, feeling quite helpless. Since Nicholas had co to the gym at noon, he had stayed with her the whole ti, originally planning to tell her family she was pulling an all-nighter. Now, it seed impossible.
Nicholas could roughly guess Henry Hargrave’s intentions. He grabbed Beatrice’s hand and said, "Let’s go. I’ll take you ho."
The rehearsal had already ended, and apart from a few staff mbers, everyone else had left the gym. Beatrice had just changed out of her performance costu, ready to leave with Nicholas.
On the way back, Nicholas said while driving, "Beatrice, there’s sothing I want to talk to you about."
"What is it?" Beatrice turned her head, and from her angle, Nicholas’s side profile seed sowhat stern as he looked ahead at the road.
"Today... I had a bit of a disagreent with your father," Nicholas was trying to find the right words; there were so things he didn’t want Beatrice to get involved in.
"If Henry asks about us, don’t tell him about our relationship yet."
"Why?" Beatrice furrowed her brow. Even though she hadn’t planned to tell her father about her relationship with Nicholas, his instructions made her feel uncomfortable, as if she were being kept as a secret mistress.
Nicholas sighed, knowing he could hear the hurt in Beatrice’s voice. He glanced at her briefly and took her hand, placing it on the steering wheel with his, looking ahead with a slight frown and said, "Beatrice, don’t ask why. Just rember that I’m doing this for you. Now is not the ti. So things, uncle doesn’t want you to be troubled by."
Nicholas was thinking far ahead; he knew Hannah Hargrave’s personality very well—assertive and sowhat domineering. If she found out Beatrice was dating him, it might lead to another clash between the sisters.
Last ti, Nicholas wasn’t sure why they argued, but Beatrice, so delicate, had even run away from ho, clearly very upset with Hannah.
Moreover, Nicholas had a feeling that Hannah didn’t seem particularly close to her sister.
"Understood," Beatrice turned her head back and looked ahead. Even if Nicholas hadn’t instructed her, she wouldn’t have said anything. That family was all trying to push Hannah onto Uncle Nicholas. If they knew she had taken him, they’d tear her apart.
Throughout the journey, the two barely communicated. Beatrice settled into the seat, closing her eyes to rest. When they were almost at the entrance of the villa area, Nicholas parked the car by the roadside.
Looking at the girl asleep in the passenger seat, his handso face softened, his thumb gently caressed the corner of Beatrice’s lips, "Beatrice, wake up. We’re ho."
Startled, Beatrice abruptly opened her eyes, looked ahead, then turned to Nicholas, still a bit dazed from sleep, murmuring softly, "Uncle..."
"Hmm," Nicholas responded, unbuckling his seatbelt and bringing his face closer, his large hand cradling Beatrice’s cheek and kissing her.
These days, she had been busy with rehearsals and hadn’t had a chance for affection in days. He missed her dearly, and originally intended to take her ho tonight. However... plans changed quickly.
Beatrice wrapped her arms around Nicholas’s neck, closing her eyes and responding passionately.
"Beatrice..." Nicholas whispered softly, his big hand restlessly kneading at Beatrice’s waist. Ever since Sophie Foster left, he had restrained his desires for years. Now, once awakened, there was no resistance.
