"Thank you, Director, thank you, Madam." The female doctor expressed her gratitude profusely to Sophia Hamilton, making Sophia even more embarrassed. She pursed her lips and said, "I should be the one thanking you." The doctor had just helped her with a sanitary pad.
"No need to thank , no need, it’s my honor to conduct the examination for Madam." The female doctor laughed, trying to brush it off, but she understood perfectly well that the Director was just putting on a show for Madam. Getting caught on her period during the first examination was quite embarrassing.
Evander Lancaster walked out of the consultation room with an air of aloofness, exuding the deanor of a leader. Sophia Hamilton nodded to the doctor and followed him out. As soon as they exited, Evander wrapped his arm around her.
"Let go!" Sophia’s face turned stern, and she flung Evander’s arm away, shedding her earlier shyness.
"What’s wrong? You were fine just now." Evander frowned helplessly and reached out again. Sophia dodged once more, turned her head, and let out a derisive laugh.
"Hmph! Director? Truly, the world is going downhill if scum like you can beco a director!" Taking advantage of his position to prey on patients, the worst part is—
He even forced himself on her!
"Alright, don’t be mad. I didn’t know you’d just started your period, so it turned into such a big misunderstanding." Evander pulled Sophia back again, one hand holding hers, the other around her shoulder, making it difficult for her to break free.
"Let go!" Sophia snapped again in displeasure, just as a white coat carrying a tray walked past them, smiling and greeting Evander, "Director."
"Mm," Evander nodded, staying close to Sophia without sidestepping because of the presence of his hospital’s doctor.
"Hmph, perverted doctor!" After the white coat passed by, Sophia scoffed disdainfully and tried to wriggle free from Evander’s hold.
"Is that how you talk about your man? Don’t be mad, let’s go ho first."
"I want to go to my own ho!"
Evander lowered his gaze, half-smiling, and asked, "Are you sure?"
Thinking Sophia was hurt, Evander hastily wrapped a bathrobe around her, and added his own coat on top, while she was only wearing the small trousers a nurse had specially sent from the hospital if he rembered correctly.
"Nonsense!"
Sophia retorted coldly. Evander raised his eyebrows but said nothing. When Sophia tried to break free again, he didn’t insist on holding her, instead, he casually put his hands in the pockets of his casual pants and leisurely followed her.
Angry, Sophia didn’t notice she was wearing hospital slippers. Evander’s long fra ant his long cotton coat completely covered her legs. In the hospital corridor, with the heater on, she didn’t feel cold.
Once they both stepped out of the hospital door, a gust of cold wind hit, and Sophia quickly tightened her coat’s lapels.
The chill snuck in over her feet, and Sophia finally noticed her outfit.
Evander shivered as well; wearing only thin pants in the dead of winter was uncomfortable. He grimaced and said, "Wait inside first," before dashing into the cold wind.
Sophia returned to the hospital lobby, watching outside through the glass doors. After waiting a few minutes, Evander still hadn’t driven the car over.
Seeing patients and doctors pass by and glance at her curiously only made Sophia angrier. She pushed open the revolving door and ran to where Evander had parked, opened the passenger side door, and got in, "What took you so long? Made wait forever!"
