When Logan Ray stood in front of her with Ava Charles, Titus Zane struggled to curve her lips upwards, not allowing her smile to falter.
Although she had told Logan to forget her and find a woman to live a good life, it was only when he stood before her with another woman that Titus realized, in fact, she wasn’t so magnanimous.
What should she do, she was just selfish, so selfish that her heart felt as if it had been gouged out, thrown onto the ground, and then, as she watched, soone crushed it bit by bit with great force.
And she, watching her own heart beco increasingly mangled and unable to do anything about it, was utterly powerless.
Because Titus Zane knew very well, she had long since lost the right.
Lost the right to refuse Logan Ray, and even more so, the right to enjoy the shoulder, the chest, and his... darling affection that were once solely ant for her.
"Hi, congratulations."
Fearing that her forced smiles wouldn’t last much longer, Titus took the initiative to offer her congratulations.
She raised her champagne glass to Logan Ray, but he only lowered his gaze to the champagne glass Titus held up to him, his expression indifferent, not speaking, nor raising his glass.
Ava Charles looked back and forth between the two, raised her glass, and clinked it with Titus’s.
"Thank you."
Titus pursed her lips faintly, and as the champagne glass neared her lips, she saw Logan turn his face towards Ava Charles with a displeased expression.
"Don’t accept every congratulatory word like it’s the truth. You can’t tell if it’s sincere or just pretend."
His words left both won stunned, Ava Charles widened her moist eyes to look at Logan, her gaze clear and pure.
Whereas Titus, with her champagne glass halted at her lips, wore a clearly hurt expression when looking at Logan.
"Sister Titus, don’t be angry, Logan is just joking with you." Seeing Titus awkwardly holding her glass, Ava Charles smiled in an attempt to ease the awkwardness, then turned again to speak to Logan.
"Logan, don’t be like that, Sister Titus is surely sincere..."
Before she could finish saying "to bless us," Logan Ray got angry.
His eyebrows tightly furrowed, he looked at Ava Charles, his handso and refined face unusually displaying displeasure.
"How many tis have I told you, not everyone is as naïve and innocent as you! Are you that familiar with her? Calling her so affectionately! You don’t even know if she despises it!"
Logan Ray’s unwarranted anger once again shocked both won.
"Logan?"
Ava Charles’s brow knitted, her porcelain face slightly aggrieved.
And Titus’s face instantly turned pale.
She knew that Logan was lashing out at her, but just at that mont—
"I’m sorry, on such a wonderful day, I shouldn’t have co to add to your troubles." Titus lowered her eyes, unable to hide her hurt and bitterness. She quickly passed by Logan, and when crossing a waiter, she thrust the champagne glass onto the tray and, lifting the hem of her dress, hurried out of the banquet hall with her head down.
Standing in place, Logan Ray remained motionless for a long ti. When Titus left in her flurry, her shoulder brushed his. Although it was very light, it was a blow that pained him to the core.
Logan Ray knew that between them, there could never be anything more in this lifeti.

"Logan," Ava Charles tentatively shook Logan’s arm. He glanced down at her with an expressionless face.
"Aren’t you going to chase after Sister Titus?" Ava Charles asked softly.
"Do you want to leave you behind at our engagent party?"
"I don’t want that." Ava Charles shook her head.
She liked Logan, but she also wanted him to be happy. Since Logan had said that, then she would be selfish this ti.
