"I’m sorry, I’m just too nervous." Evander Lancaster lowered his eyes again, and Mia Foster, unable to stand it, advised across Felix Shaw, "Evander, don’t worry too much, you brought her in ti, it should be fine."
"Yes, yes, everything will be fine," Evander nodded repeatedly, his baby, being strong, surely nothing will happen.
The big light above the ergency room door went out, and Evander had never been this nervous before. He hurriedly got up, his hands in the pockets of his casual pants were sweating with tension.
Sophia Hamilton was pushed out by the dical staff, her eyes vacant as she lay on the mobile hospital bed.
"Doctor, my child..." Evander had just started speaking when Sophia slowly turned to him and lightly said one word, "Leave!"
Having just gone through a life crisis, her already colorless face beca even colder, like ice.
Evander Lancaster...
His outstretched hand halted in the air, fingers skilled at handling the scalpel curled and uncurled, no longer filled with the deep emotion of the past. Sophia’s eyes were icy, lacking any warmth.
Felix and his wife also stood in place, just recently getting up from the rest bench, sensing the unusual atmosphere between the two and thus didn’t approach.
Evander stood in the corridor, both hands still frozen in the air, unmoving, as if immobilized.
Seeing the dical staff pushing the mobile bed into the elevator, Felix reminded with a shout, "Why are you still standing there? Get on with it!"
His words snapped Evander out of his daze, and he reacted, calling out, "Wait a minute!" as the dical staff reached to press the button, then ran over with great strides.
Watching the closing elevator, Felix shook his head with a light sigh, "See, honey, how lucky you are to et a good man like ."
"Stop being smug!" Mia Foster wrapped her arm around Felix’s, raised her hand to poke his head, and Felix turned, his charming eyes gently flirting, filled with a smile, "Am I stinky, honey? Want to try?"
Felix leaned over with his thin lips, and Mia Foster laughed, pushing him aside.
In the elevator, Sophia Hamilton closed her eyes, simply choosing not to see, to avoid further irritation.
Evander stood against the wall, facing forward, his handso face uncharacteristically serious.
When they reached the inpatient ward floor, the elevator door opened, and the dical staff pushed Sophia towards the ward, while Evander walked next to the mobile bed, the expression on his handso face still solemn.
"Please, get rid of any irrelevant people."
Sophia spoke without expression, her words equally devoid of warmth.
The dical staff pushing the bed glanced at Evander, who at this point slightly narrowed his charming eyes, staring intently at Sophia.
The dical staff pursed their lips and said, "Sir, please leave, the patient is very weak and needs rest."
Evander suddenly turned to the dical staff, his eyes widening, the abrupt action startling the dical staff so much that the bed they were pushing shook a little.
"Tell your identification number, I want to complain to your director."
The dical staff...
Preoccupied with looking at Evander, the mobile bed they were pushing almost hit the corridor wall.
"Does this interest you?" Sophia finally looked at Evander, her eyes lacking warmth much like her tone.
Since leaving the ergency room, aside from that single "leave" word, she hadn’t glanced at Evander once.
Evander looked at her as well, his charming eyes narrowing again, thin lips tightly pressed.
In such a short ti, he didn’t know what had happened, he only knew his child might no longer be.
His eyes tightened and lips parted as he coolly asked, "Where is the child?"
Facing Evander’s obviously unfriendly gaze, Sophia expressionlessly uttered three words, "It was lost."
