Jon shook his head, his handso brows slightly furrowed, appearing pensive.
"No, he cares about you a lot, he wouldn’t lie to you."
"What did you say?" Titus Zane thought he heard wrong. Nathan Moore cared about her?
That’s a big joke. In the past, he couldn’t wait to see her dead to feel relieved; every ti, he tortured her severely.
"Can’t you see it?" Jon asked, his expression serious, not looking like he was joking.
"I can’t see it!"
Titus Zane tugged at the blanket and turned over, clearly unwilling to continue this topic.
In the master bedroom on the third floor, Ariana Evans sat in front of the vanity mirror, applying skincare lotion, before getting up and heading to the bed.
Just as she sat down at the bed, Julian Zane spoke.
"Call Titus more often in the future, and co back to stay more when you have ti."
Ariana Evans paused in applying her skincare lotion, looking at her husband as if he were an alien, then suddenly chuckled lightly.
"You’ve finally co around."
After saying that, she slid under the covers.
Julian Zane lay flat on the bed, staring at the ceiling with a gaze devoid of emotion, looking sowhat gloomy.
"It’s not about whether I’ve co around or not. That foreigner is more reliable than Nathan; perhaps soday our Zane family might need his help."
Ariana Evans poked Julian Zane’s head with her finger, pretending to be displeased, "You’re always so calculating."
Julian Zane turned his face towards her, a rare smile appearing on his usually stern face.
"Didn’t you used to adore it to death?"
Ariana Evans blushed, "Who says?"
"Isn’t it obvious? It’s all over your face."
Julian Zane stretched out his long arms, pulling Ariana Evans into his embrace, though she kept struggling, "Hey, what are you doing? We are too old for all this hugging and cuddling."
"Are you disgusted with ?" Julian Zane moved his handso face closer, it had to be admitted, this man, although aged, still had the sa charming smile as when he was young.
Ariana Evans got a bit distracted, reminiscing about their youth, the first ti she saw him, she couldn’t take her eyes off him...
"Back then, you tried every ans to get close to ," Julian Zane’s forehead resting against Ariana’s, his eyes and brows filled with teasing.
"Not at all."
Talking about the past, Ariana Evans wouldn’t admit it; thinking about those crazy youthful days, she did so extre things. But now, looking back, she didn’t regret them and even felt grateful to heaven for giving her such an excellent and perfect man.
"Still denying it," Julian Zane’s voice was tinged with laughter, "When I was hospitalized, who delivered als to punctually every day and secretly threw away the food from our ho?"
"You had to ntion that!" bringing that up made Ariana Evans want to complain a bit, "If it weren’t for you, Lily wouldn’t have inherited such a severe heart condition!"
Back then, because Julian Zane’s company had just been established and wasn’t large, he personally had to attend all sorts of social gatherings, constantly drinking that stressed his heart, leading to acquired heart disease... Later, Ariana Evans, distressed because of him, also underwent long-term treatnt, using a variety of dications, and it was during that ti Olivia Zane was conceived...
When their daughter’s illness was ntioned, the smile disappeared from Julian Zane’s face, his handso face turned cold, his eyes also beca somber, suddenly narrowing, he fiercely said, "It’s all that woman’s fault! If it wasn’t for her, you wouldn’t have needed such long treatnt!"
Ariana Evans gently held her husband’s hand, comforting in a soft voice, "Julian, it’s been so many years, let it go."
"Hmph!" A cold snort ca from Julian Zane’s nostrils, one hand unconsciously covering the scar on his chest, if it weren’t for his tough luck, he would have died by that woman’s hand!
